🎮 Core Gameplay and Exploration
If you're a fan of classic survival horror, you'll immediately feel at home here. The gory monsters, static camera angles, tank controls, save rooms, exploring dark hallways, item-based progression and backtracking all give you that feeling of classic Resident Evil with a hint of Silent Hill. It's that slow and deliberate pacing of carefully exploring every new area to figure out where to go next just to get surprised by a monster coming at you just off the screen. It evokes the constant paranoia of what could be lurking beyond the edge of the view.
⚔️ Combat and Enemy Design
The enemy design is a standout. There's a solid variety of monsters, all with nasty and distinct designs, and you'll quickly learn to identify them by both appearance and sound. Each enemy is slightly different in how you need to approach them which makes careful use of all of your weapons actually worthwhile. That said, combat is as you would expect from a horror game like this. You shoot the monsters before they reach you. What's nice is that the melee weapon is actually viable, which you don't often see in gun-focused horror games like this. It gives you the option to conserve ammo without just having to dodge around the monsters. Boss fights are more frequent than I expected. The boss designs are all unique and interesting. I only wish the mechanics of the boss fights had a bit more variety, but they're still fun and add tension.
📷 Visuals and Performance
Visually the game looks great. Especially when it comes to the environments. Unfortunately the character models of the humans are a bit janky and awkward in motion, but I think it's forgivable given how nice the world around them looks. One of the rougher aspects is the camera work. In certain rooms the static cameras struggle to keep up with the player and it becomes unclear where you're going. It's a small issue, but one that is definitely an annoyance in an otherwise well presented game. Another unfortunate thing is the game's performance. It's really not well optimized. Too add to this problem, the graphic settings are very limited, with only resolution and a basic low/medium/high setting. More detailed options would go a long way toward improving performance on a wider range of systems.
🔊 Audio and Atmosphere
The game doesn't have any voice acting at all. I think it's a bit of a missed opportunity, but it's not a deal breaker. The sound design is otherwise great. Each monsters has their own audio cue so you what's coming without seeing them. That alone adds tension. The music deserves praise too. It's unassuming, but unnerving. It supports the atmosphere very well without drawing too much attention to itself, which is exactly what horror music should do.
📖 Writing and Puzzles
The narrative is pretty thin. There's a story, but the game is really not trying to tell it you. I wish it was a little bit more in your face, but as it is it's kinda forgettable. Don't go in expecting an expansive story with brilliant writing. Most puzzles are about finding a key or an item to progress. If you don't enjoy puzzles where you need to turn your brain on you won't be disappointed. I wish it had some more puzzles that required actual problem solving though.
🎬 Bonus Touches
There are a few subtle nods to other horror games and movies, which was a fun surprise. They're not overly obvious, but if you're a fan of the genre, you'll enjoy spotting them. It's a nice nod to the classics without being obnoxious about it.
🏁 Final Thoughts
This game isn't flawless. It has some undeniable jank, some frustrating camera work, and performance could be improved, but none of that takes away from what it does right. It understands what made classic horror games so fun. If you loved classic Resident Evil or Silent Hill, and you're alright with it being just a bit rough around the edges, there's a good chance you will enjoy this game. Recommended for survival horror fans. Give it a shot.

This is going to be a pretty soft recommendation, perhaps even barely a recommendation at all. There are a LOT of other games in this vein that I would rather play. I'll start with what I liked about it, because there are some good aspects that deserve recognition. The setting is pretty neat - although hospitals are a common level within bigger survival horror games, they are rarely used as the main setting, and I think it was handled quite well here. I like the medical theme that ties it all together with the enemies and the story. I like that there is a great deal of variety in the enemies (although I still found they felt really samey). I think some of the music was interesting, although not enough to have any real impact. The main thing that I actually like about this game is the level design. I think the developer did a good job making the hospital feel logical and interconnected, with lots of mysteries to return to as you gain key items along the way. Good work. Now if only I could see anything outside my flashlight...or find a map to keep track of the 6 locked doors I have found. No map is not always a deal breaker for me...I find it to be a pain in a game with complex level design like this one, but I can suck it up and sometimes even get into making paper maps if I am intrigued enough by the rest of the elements going on. Pair the lack of map with a constant struggle to see due to virtually no light outside of my flashlight which is constantly bobbing around as I run and I find myself getting agitated rather then invested. For the first half of the game I found things a bit too easy, but due to the frustrations I mentioned before, I was sort of thankful. Usually I like things to be hard, but not when I am already struggling to enjoy the game. And that's where things became an issue for me - the second half of the game ramps up the difficulty pretty significantly, and quickly shifts from too easy to too hard. I ran out of energy to keep pushing through when I got to a chase sequence in a maze like area with huge amounts of enemies who can box you into corners, forcing you to try and fail to fight them all to clear the path or just stand there and die slowly because running passed them simply isn't in the cards. I typically have a lot of patience for classic style survival horror. It's genuinely my favourite type of game and I love that more solo and indie developers are making these things, but I do have my limits. I can't say I'd highly recommend it, but I didn't hate it either. I just wish it didn't have so many things making it hard for me to like it. It's literally made for me, or, it's supposed to be. I am the target audience for this. If you are going to play this game, just know that it's a little bit rougher than many of its contemporaries. Hopefully there's something more here for you than there was for me. WOW! THIS GAME ROCKS!!! I'm absolutely shocked how good this is. The story (a little vague in the beginning) it's really good and just gets better over time. The graphics are great they feel like a classic PlayStation 2 / original Xbox horror game. The only problem I have with the game is that sometimes it takes a just a bit too long for the camera to readjust when you enter a new scene. And I got glitched behind the door that open and pin me against the bush and I had to reset the stage to go to my last save point. And I really wish it had a modern control option. I understand the point is to have the old tank controls but it would have been nice to have modern option. Even with that this game is excellent! I can't recommend it enough!
It needs to be fix is freezes up a lot as ♥♥♥♥ the control mechanic sucks if I known this game was be like that I woulnt purchase this game and wasted my money the game is very frustrating to play it will make you curse alot that how bad this game is
I enjoyed this game and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys the old school, fixed camera, tank control survival horror games. The atmosphere was great and the eerie soundtrack only added to it. I liked the level design and puzzles, but there were a couple of things that I found a bit annoying. 1. On occasion, the camera angle didn't change instantly when my character went off screen. This caused my death a handful of times as i had run straight into enemies and didn't know. 2. As with all survival horror games, I run past the enemies that I don't need to waste ammo on, but it appears that you can still be hurt during the door opening "fade to black" to enter the next room, even though your character is frozen on the spot so you cant do anything about it. I just had to watch as my character died either before or after entering the next room, which was a pain. Aside from those two points, everything else was fine. My PC ran it smoothly, though it is a bit GPU hungry imo. Good variety of enemies. I used a controller and had no issues there either. More pros than cons so good job to the dev :)
It really is a nice little gem! You can see the developers tried really hard to make a good game and even though it has a lot of jank and is quite hard, you can feel the effort put into it. The sound design could use a bit of work, most of the time it is mostly music and normal game sounds, but ambient sounds would really improve the experience. An option to quick-turn would be great and the first part of the game could benefit by having a bit more healthpacks, other than that its a really nice indie experience. All in all, i can still really recommend this game if you are a fan of Old School Resident Evil and Silent Hill and want to give small developers a try!
it's a hard game and has a few balance issues, lack of saves is one of them, selecting weapons and reloading in the menu (which is the "B" key) is a real pain. hopefully they'll have 1,2,3,4,5 or mouse wheel as the weapon select and "R" as reload. Good Points: it looks amazing, great monsters and not a repetitive game. I was pleased with the game overall. It's definitely worth a try. here's the full game if you're stuck: https://youtu.be/wfFLH-VmHaM
This is amazing! I don’t know if it was intentional but it reminds me soo much of early Ps2 games the way the controls are and the manual save stations. SUPER NOSTALGIC! My mum met the devs friend and told me to play it I hope the people who stopped by my stream buy the game to show support!
