This VN has such a great and honest portrayal of mental health issues. Makoto and Shouma both suffering in different ways, yet finding solace in eachother, even though they know that it won't always be good times. It's a very realistic, heartwarming story, I was amazed that the game is free.
An amazing visual novel. I fell down the vtubing rabbit hole 4 years ago and it's aided me through some rough times in life. Watching clips and listening to song covers helped distract me from my problems in life that were starting to pile and helped me move forward. Playing through the visual novel and getting to some of the inner thoughts the characters had made me tear up at some parts as similar thoughts had plagued me before. I love how topics like being parasocial towards the vtubers you watch and how there are real people behind these virtual avatars is handled. I enjoy the ost playing in the background and I like the art style that fits the melancholic mood of the plot and characters. The overall message that I got after finishing the game is that Vtuber Connect is a visual novel about people who are broken and imperfect trying to move forward in life, I quite like that realistic message. Yes, I know that this review isn't very organised but I just wanted to rant about how I felt this love letter to vtubing is done justice and why maybe you should pick it up if some of the things that I mentioned above interest you. In my opinion, I think that those who watch vtubers would enjoy playing through this more than someone who knows nothing but I still think you should try out the game regardless and decide for yourself whether you want to continue it, after all, the game is free you lose nothing except a bit of time and even then you'll come out of it feeling like you learned something.
