Archery doesn't work on virtual destop with Quest 2
..
good
Can't get it to work with my oculus quest 2.
I know you shouldn't expect much for a 6 year old VR game, but I'm still disappointed with how they totally botched what could've been a really fun VR Wii Sports clone. Here's a quick rundown of each sport and why this isn't worth your time, even on sale. Bowling: It's not the worst VR bowling game I've played, it's just nothing special. There's no real way to consistently throw the ball where you want it. That being said, this is still one of the better games. Homerun Derby: Forget about it. It's stupidly hard to hit a ball, even on easy, let alone hit one over the wall. After a couple attempts and a few short and foul grounders, I gave up. Soccer: This one wasn't bad either. You just stand there and if you can move your hands quickly enough to either side, you might stop the ball. Although, sometimes the ball seemed to go through my hands, and on the last ball of round, it went right through my face, even with my hands right in front of it. Basketball: Another impossible game unless you make random underhand throws and hope they go in. Trying to throw like you would a real basketball just doesn't work. Japanese Archery: If there were any way to actually aim, this could be fun. But this is like shooting from the hip, because the only way you can hit the target is by positioning the bow in a way that you can't actually tell what you're aiming at. You need to go on muscle memory and figure out exactly how to hold the bow so the arrow hits the target. Clay Shooting: Another one that could've been fun if it wasn't totally broken. Half the time I'd pull the trigger 2 or 3 times and no bullets would come out, even at the very start of a round on the first clay pigeon and before I'd fired a single shot. Too frustrating and inconsistent to enjoy. Boxing: Nope. Every time you get hit your vision goes black for a second, and from what I can tell, you can't block hooks or uppercuts. So half the time you're just playing in the dark, punching at your opponent as he blocks almost everything and consistently hits you. VR boxing games have come a long way since this came out, and this one just isn't fun at all. Kart: I actually enjoyed this one, even if the controls kind of suck. For some reason the wheel is locked until you turn it a little and then jumps into analogue mode. I don't know why it can't turn smoothly from centre, but it just can't. Either way, it's still a pretty fun little race, even if it is short. DLC Games Table Tennis: This is the one I wanted to enjoy the most and they ruined it for absolutely no reason with the fire and ball trails. The physics are a little arcadey, but this could've been a fun game if they didn't make it impossible to see the ball with all of the annoying extras. At least give us the option to turn this crap off. Golf: I could play this one again, it's just unfortunately short. Physics are kind of janky too, especially putting, but it's a fun and short little golf game. Conclusion Just don't bother. For the few highlights, there are way too many issues with this game for it to be worth buying. They could've at least added a few options to customize gameplay, or even a reset view button would've been nice. If I thought they were still going to give this game any updates I'd consider trying it again in the future, but I'll probably just get a refund while I still can.
Not worth it even on sale
