"Viveport Video" is the worst ripoff of VLC ever... this is a crap video player (yes, we can play videos in a browser now, making this even more pointless) that you have to pay a [b]SUBSCRIPTION[/b] to use. It's for VR headsets, but doesn't work with most VR headsets. Buy a subscription. Holy crap, this is cancer. It's VR exclusive, and that shows the developer failed to understand the most basic axiom of VR game design... if the only cool thing about your product is VR support, your product is not cool. You're forced to sign a highly questionable yet legally unenforceable End User License Agreement... for such a relatively low effort, low quality product, this comes across more as a delusion of grandeur than anything else. This agreement includes questionable requirements that may attempt to revoke consumer law protections that gamers expect to have, which is also highly problematic. Developers must learn they are here to serve gamers, not control them. I had my cat walk over the keyboard while the EULA was displaying, which fixed that problem for me. Bearing in mind that free apps don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? What's the verdict? Nope. There's no up front cost here, but I still feel like I got ripped off, and I didn't even spend any money. That's how bad this is. There's better truly free, non-scammy, honestly marketed video players out there. Anything but this garbage.

If you are looking for a free 360 degree video player videos downloaded to your PC thumbs up, in every other category No. The streaming services offered here are awful resolution! Youtube isn't even offered here, you need a third party software to download them to your computer then you can use this app to play them in 360 degrees, and that's about all this app is good for! The native desktop video playback in Steam VR is excellent for 2D videos. Edit: The other day when I started this my hand controllers completely disappear, and I can't do anything with the menu, i click the home button and my hands are back. I tried restarting the game several times, I tried restarting my PC, same results. I am changing to not recommend and getting a different video player!

Just no. Poor collection of poor quality movies. When it said "It's 4k, and you see 320x240".

I am new to vr, and was told about this viewing movies thing. All to find i cant stream from youtube or anywhere, none of the channels have any content and a lot of my pc movies and series formats dont work. All i wanted to do was watch some horror stuff in vr, but that wont be happening. If im doing some thing wrong please tell me.
