Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0/day in the week to Aug 25 → 0/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About
One village. One night. Not a single witness.
Jane Evans is a real estate appraiser. Her job involves abandoned houses in the wilderness. Her latest assignment takes her to Roadville, a village lost in the fog. There's no communication. The bus runs once a day. And the locals are hiding something.
Jane will have to spend the night in a village where everyone smiles, but no one tells the truth. And where there's an ancient prophecy: "The most important is the one who comes from the darkness. The blood of others is needed..."
GAMEPLAY
This is a psychological visual novel where your main goal is to survive and escape. Gameplay is entirely focused on reading dialogue, Jane's internal monologues, and making decisions. Every choice you make can bring you closer to salvation—or send you into the arms of the Tree. The game offers several story paths and many hidden dead ends, where one wrong move can be fatal.
GAME FEATURES
Atmospheric horror. Terror is born from silence, fog, strange glances, and the gradual realization: you are no one here, you are alone, and no one will come.
Gaslighting as a mechanic. You will be told scary stories, and a minute later you will think it was all fantasy. Will you believe yourself? Or will you think you are going crazy?
Prophecy and the Tree. Something ancient grows in the center of the village. It is hungry. It remembers. And it has already chosen its victim.
Multiple endings. Will you escape before dawn? Or will you become part of the community? Or will you never be found?
"Truly, the most important is the one who comes from the darkness. But the one who comes from the darkness will never return."

Reviews

10/10
This is a good solid game. Good story good music good writing suspense foreshadowing and fun with many bad endings and 1 good one. The main girl is not a wimp unless you make her one. 10/10. Even the length is perfect.
A tense, atmospheric psychological horror VN where silence and gaslighting create genuine dread. The branching paths and multiple endings add replay value, though the slow pacing and reading-heavy gameplay won't suit everyone. A haunting little gem for patient horror fans.

Developed by Reanim Games and published by STuNT, Visual novel: The One from the Dark is a psychological horror experience that favors suspense, mystery, and narrative depth over conventional gameplay. The story follows Jane Evans, a real estate appraiser sent to inspect a remote property in the secluded village of Roadville. What begins as an ordinary business trip quickly turns into a nightmare when transportation problems and the town's strange atmosphere force her to remain overnight. Surrounded by uneasy locals who seem to know more than they are willing to admit, Jane becomes entangled in an ancient prophecy connected to a mysterious Tree, leaving her to determine whether the horrors surrounding her are real or simply the result of manipulation and fear. The game succeeds in creating an oppressive atmosphere through its storytelling. Rather than relying on frequent scares or action-heavy sequences, it gradually builds tension by making every conversation feel meaningful and every character potentially dangerous. The isolated village serves as an effective backdrop, presenting an environment where outsiders are unwelcome and every unanswered question adds another layer to the mystery. The folklore woven into the narrative gives the story a distinctive identity, while the uncertainty surrounding the prophecy keeps players invested as they attempt to uncover the truth behind Roadville's unsettling traditions. As a visual novel, the gameplay is centered on reading, making decisions, and experiencing the consequences of those choices. Dialogue selections influence how events unfold, leading to multiple endings and several dead-end scenarios that encourage replaying the story from different perspectives. The branching structure gives weight to seemingly ordinary decisions, reinforcing the idea that trust and judgment are just as important as courage. Players looking for complex mechanics or exploration may find the experience relatively simple, but those who enjoy interactive storytelling will appreciate the emphasis on narrative progression and meaningful player agency. One of the game's more compelling ideas is its focus on psychological manipulation. Instead of presenting the danger in obvious ways, the story constantly challenges both Jane and the player to question what is real. Villagers frequently contradict themselves, unsettling events are often explained away, and moments of uncertainty blur the line between reality and imagination. This persistent sense of doubt becomes the driving force behind the horror, making the experience more about unraveling hidden motives than confronting visible monsters. It creates a slow-burning tension that rewards patient players who enjoy carefully piecing together clues. The visual presentation reinforces the eerie atmosphere with haunting environments and unsettling character artwork. The developers openly note that the game's illustrations were created using artificial intelligence, a creative choice that may divide opinions but ultimately contributes to the surreal quality of the experience. Combined with dark themes involving death, religious imagery, smoking, and psychological distress, the visuals complement the story's unsettling tone without relying on excessive graphic content. The soundtrack and overall pacing further strengthen the feeling of isolation, allowing quiet moments to become just as unsettling as the more dramatic scenes. Visual novel: The One from the Dark delivers a thoughtful horror narrative built around mystery, folklore, and psychological tension. Its strongest qualities come from its immersive setting, branching storylines, and the constant uncertainty surrounding its characters and central prophecy. Although the limited interactivity may not satisfy players expecting traditional adventure mechanics, fans of story-driven horror and choice-based visual novels will find an engaging experience that rewards curiosity and multiple playthroughs. Its emphasis on atmosphere over spectacle gives it a memorable identity within the genre and makes it an intriguing choice for players seeking a slower, more cerebral horror story. Rating: 7/10
