The Good Best vr desktop on the market right now. Most video players lock you out of 90% of your pc's functions and force you to use controllers which can be very difficult to pinpoint select files on a list. Instead of a normal desktop folder with preview thumbnails other software just gives you a file directory of text to sort through. This program is the go to for 360 3D video while listening to some music files or using your browser. Its competitor "virtual desktop" has crashed on me constantly and won't play some files. I have yet to have a crash with this software. Bigscreen has merit but cannot support 360 3D which is what VR is all about in my opinion. Bigscreen is exactly that, a big flat screen with no immersion beyond a bunch of weird floating heads around you. Their focus is on the environment rather than the 3D movie and it is also not good for image viewing as the screen is further away from you and no VR hardware currently displays full 4k resolution which is especially bad for trying to read tiny text on your desktop. The Bad Audio. The vr video player has it's own audio bar and for some reason it randomly does not work 95% of the time. This means it stays stuck on the last setting or won't adjust. This makes loud videos unwatchable as they cannot be muted/turned down and other videos are stuck too low/muted. Sometimes restarting it fixes this but then it locks in place again. Have not had this problem with any other player/vr desktop. No video looping function is a major setback if you want to watch 3d gifs or other short files such as music videos. It now has a keyboard you can turn off and on but I have found it will not open 80% of the time. The audio and loop issues are huge but right now there is no alternative, Bigscreen can't play 360 3D and virtual desktop crashes/won't play files. So I would still recommend this software. The devs need to get these bugs worked out though if they don't want to get left behind.
This is FREE, and it works like a charm. It hides your videos when watching through the VR video player, very cutomizable. It'll save you money you'd spend on a paid-for virtual desktop. No problems ever.
