Victim Complex is a first person, narrative-driven horror experience. Play as hack medium Jack Lognare, who has stumbled on his first legitimate haunting. Will you try to help the spirits trapped in the haunted apartment complex, or will you rush to save yourself before whatever killed them gets you too?
Use iconic ghost-hunting equipment to find and communicate with the lingering spirits in an abandoned apartment complex.
Follow the spirits' clues to discover what happened to the deceased tenants.
Whatever killed the tenants is still here... can you avoid it and escape with your life?
Hack medium Jack Lognare has a specialty: "cleansing" haunted locations so that they can be fixed up and sold without the stigma they once had in their communities. When he is hired to exorcise the spirits in an apartment complex in rural Wisconsin, he expects to find the same thing he usually does: nothing.
But when he arrives, he discovers that this time, the rumors may actually be true, and he has found his first legitimate haunting. Initially thrilled to use his phony "ghost hunting equipment" for real, he soon learns that the malicious Entity that supposedly killed all the residents may be real as well... and it doesn't plan on letting him leave so easily.
Each chapter will have multiple endings; will Jack help the trapped spirits along the way and get the true answers, or focus on getting out as quickly as possible before he shares their fate?
You decide how Jack will fare, in Victim Complex.

This indie project is solid. It's relatively short, at about an hour if you manage to find everything. There are multiple endings, which I won't spoil, relative to what you learn. Plenty of good scares. Excellent ambiance. Good voice acting for a small project. Honestly, no complaints. If you like horror games like Amnesia, this will feel right in your wheelhouse.

https://youtu.be/ckCtsIYtnXc Another part 1 of 4 game that will never release even part 2. just a cliff-hanger that will leave you hanging for eternity. priced too high for the amount of game. there's so little content I basically feel lied to when i was expecting a game. stop lying to us and finish your game before you release it. I could speed run this game in 10 minutes. that's a dollar a minute. you're going to feel ripped-off when you purchase this. I know i did. it's a 1/4 of a game and it should be 1/4 of the price. maybe if it goes on sale for $2.50 it'd be worth it. but even then, there is no roadmap for the completion and as it stands, no ending, and 97% chance there never will be. you're going to end up with a quarter of a "Victim Complex"
I got to play this in early beta and it legit made me jump multiple times. I really enjoyed the setting and twists along the way (don't want to give any spoilers). Worth checking out for sure :)
very nice atmospheric ghost hunting experience. a single player indie horror game. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uxS1vmPdMyU
Примитивно и не интересно для 24-го года.
TLDR: It's okay but it shows potential Before writing this, I wanted to 100% the game but in its current state, it was easier said then done. Overall, I think the game has an okay experience for its price, it just needs a lot more work before its really something to be considered amazing. The story is simple. It doesn't do anything too far fetched and voice acting suffices. You can tell the VA's try hard and it shows but some lines delivery aren't the best. For the story, it's not hard to invest yourself into your own character or the other characters. You have a job to do so you naturally want to do it. To leave the apartment, you have to help a spirit which anyone would agree to to be free. Unraveling what happened was kind of fun and interesting and you'd could sympathize for the characters a bit. Setting the first spirit free isn't hard to do but the second spirit, I couldn't figure it out. I hope I'm not outing myself for making a bad decision but I've tried replaying a few times and I could never figure it out despite listening to him before leaving. Gameplay is a walking simulator and the locations is just the apartment, stairway, and laundry room. I know the building is suppose to be run down but some areas are over detailed with garbage and trash while others are just empty. The mechanics werent hard to figure out but going through the game for the first time, it took me a minute or two with some things. The glitches in this game are outright game breaking. A common one which I dont actually consider a glitch but poor programming is if you try to speed through certain parts or do an action too early, youre stuck. It's very obvious when you have to close your eyes. My first play through, I sat with my eyes closed for about 5 minutes just to open them and die. Second time getting to that part, I waited to the last second before closing my eyes for everything to play out as normal. This isnt the only part like that. Sometimes of you open a door to early or interact with something in your journal/inventory, you'll be locked in place unable to move which requires a restart. Sometimes, it felt like an entire save was plagued by that so I had to restart the game entirely. I hope what I said doesn't come off crass because like I said, I can really see the potential and if this is a part 1, I am excited for the part 2. I just believe that there's a lot of work to be done. To rehash my critiques in a more constructive way, story and VA are done well, level detailing could be polished more, and the game has a bit of quirks to work out but it is an overall decent experience.
A fantastic jaunt into the horror genre. The atmosphere and voice acting is on point throughout the game, walking the line between making you jump and making you unsettled. I am not a fan of horror that tries to just skate by on jump scares and thankfully that is very much not the case here. It is not a super long game (longer if you find all the clues) as it is part 1 but what is here is a rich and worth while experience.
There are a few bumps here and there, but the game managed to properly scare me a few times! It's always great sign that the developer listens to feedback and I look forward to see where it goes from here
