VHOLUME is a melancholic first-person parkour adventure set in a dystopian brutalist city where bureaucracy turns a simple task into an odyssey.

I didn't expect much when I got VHOLUME but honestly it's a pretty good speedgame. The movement feels pretty good but I'd be lying if I said I didn't have some complaints about how momentum is preserved, how you gain speed, some of the hitbox/level geometry shenanigans and other miscellaneous stuff - BUT they're not dealbreakers, just something one would have to get used to (..). I have a background in speedrunning so some of the settings that are in the game are *really* welcome (timer, crosshair & speedometer settings especially). The game is visually just great. I didn't pay much attention to the music much (sorry 1000eyes!) because the game sort of warrants you to put on your favourite album and just enter a flowstate. Overall I strongly recommend the game! Especially considering the steal of a price.
A drum & bass playlist is required to reach its full potential and ascend to a higher plane of parkour.
I go fast. Pinky hurt.
GO fAST BOOM
I am absolutely loving the comeback of movement games. PANLINE coming out in 2027, Vholume, Momentum Mod, it's beautiful. The movement in this game is so satisfying.
I love the atmosphere
Fast paced and great feeling. VHOLUME is the third banger by the Lemaitre bros. (I think: Only Leonard is mentioned on the store page and in the credits but not Sirius) VHOLUME is a game all about its excellent feeling controls and great map design, the story is basically non-existant beyond what's already been writen on the store page. You can find NPCs hidding in weird places but in true Lemaitre fashion, they only speak in cliped nonsense that is more about establishing the vibes than anything else. The music is solid, very relaxed ambient noise. Stuff that barely counts as music but is perfect for reaching the flow state. Unlike a lot of speed games that have very noisy, distracting and somewhat repetative soundtracks. VHOLUME's levels are its strongest point, they're friggin weird and exotic looking. But not the least bit hard to navigate. You always seem to know where to go and whats expected of you. Which when combined with the fast paced and responsive controls makes the whole game feel buttery smooth. If you're okay with having basically no plot or worldbuilding, just fast paced game play. VHOLUME is for you.
There's no real movement options besides jump, slide, and wallrun. Instant acceleration, infinite wallrunning, impossible mid-air movement and extremely linear paths kinda kill the parkour sense. This was pitched like a Mirror's Edge experience but the mechanics are just not there, it's more like CS Surf.
