Vetrix von Pixel Racers ist ein Tetris-Clone im 8-Bit Stil.
Als ob Vetrix direkt aus Pixel Ripped geripped wurde, so cool kommt die 8-Bit-Optik zur Geltung. Der nostalgische Spieler sollte Vetrix im klassischen grün spielen, es werden aber noch zusätzliche Farben angeboten, sogar Schwarz-Weiß ist möglich. Ich bevorzuge aber das Klassische.

Wow! Für mich ist Vetrix der bisher beste Tetrisabkatsch den ich bisher in VR gespielt habe. Das liegt nicht nur an der tollen 8-Bit Grafik, die dich direkt in deinen alten Gameboy katapultiert und dem tollen passendem Sound.
Die Art und Weise wie Vertrix gesteuert wird ist hervorragend umgesetzt. Der Spieler muss sich nicht mühsam irgendwelche Knöpfe auf dem Controller merken oder umständlich über das Thumbpad wischen. In Vetrix greift der Spieler physisch nach den Bausteinen und kann sie so auch in die gewünschte Position drehen oder in die andere Hand nehmen, um sie passgenau in das doppelreihige Spielfeld zu legen.
Es fallen also keine Steine vom Himmel, sondern der Spieler muss sie selbst aktiv einsetzten. Dieses Steuerungsprinzip ist toll und klappt wunderbar. Gegriffen werden die Steine mit dem Trigger, es gibt kein Fingertracking für Index-Controller.

Vetrix ändert aber noch etwas im Gegensatz zum originalen Tetris. Anstelle der runterfallenden Blöcke, erscheinen in Vetrix Goodies und Badies. Um diese zu ernten, muss man sie geschickt in seine Konstruktion einbauen.
Zum Bauen gibt es die meisten üblichen Tetrissteine plus ein paar eigene Varianten. "Einerblöcke" sind sehr sehr selten, man muss wirklich ordentlich bauen.
Ein weiterer Vorteil von Vetrix ist, dass man das Spielfeld und auch das Block-Tablett frei im Raum platzieren kann. Somit steht einer längeren Session auf der Couch nichts mehr im Wege.

Es gibt in Vetrix zwei Spielvarianten zu wählen, einen Zeitmodus und einen Modus bei dem es um Scorepunkte geht. Beide Ergebnisse werden in einer Globalen- und Localen Highscoreliste gespeichert. Das ist für ein Spiel dieser Art auch Pflicht, sonst verliert es schnell an Reiz.
Gespielt werden beide Arten auf einem Doppelreihigen Spielfeld, dass frei dreh- und positionierbar ist.
Vetrix ist der wohl coolste Tetrisclon den man bisher spielen kann. Eine absolute Empfhelung. Nicht nur für Nostalgiker. Die neue Art Tetris zu steuern, macht das Spiel noch einmal interessant.

Vetrix by Pixel Racers is an 8-bit style Tetris clone.
As if Vetrix was ripped directly from Pixel Ripped, that's how cool the 8-bit look comes across. The nostalgic player should play Vetrix in classic green, but additional colors are offered, even black and white is possible. I prefer the classic though.
Wow. For me, Vetrix is the best Tetrisabkatsch I've played in VR so far. That's not only because of the great 8-bit graphics that catapult you right into your old Gameboy and the great matching sound.
The way Vertrix is controlled is superbly implemented. The player doesn't have to tediously memorize any buttons on the controller or awkwardly swipe over the thumbpad. In Vetrix, the player physically grabs the bricks and can also turn them into the desired position or take them in the other hand to place them precisely in the double-rowed playing field.
So no bricks fall from the sky, but the player has to actively place them himself. This control principle is great and works wonderfully. The stones are gripped with the trigger, there is no finger tracking for index controllers.
Vetrix changes something in contrast to the original Tetris. Instead of the falling blocks, goodies and badies appear in Vetrix. To harvest them, you have to skillfully build them into your construction.
For building, there are most of the usual Tetris blocks plus a few variants of your own. "One blocks" are very very rare, you really have to build neatly.
Another advantage of Vetrix is that you can place the playing field and also the block tray freely in the room. So nothing stands in the way of a longer session on the couch.
There are two game modes to choose from in Vetrix, a time mode and a score points mode. Both results are stored in a global and local highscore list. This is obligatory for a game of this type, otherwise it quickly loses its appeal.
Both types are played on a double-row playing field, which can be rotated and positioned freely.
Vetrix is probably the coolest Tetris clone you can play so far. An absolute recommendation. Not only for nostalgics. The new way to control Tetris makes the game even more interesting.
