Do not buy its a scam
very cool, keep on Devs !
It's a long ways from 1.0. Has a few bugs, but is playable. Could use more content. Needs more options in the config settings to customize the game. With that said it's the first game I've payed full price for and felt I got my money's worth immediately.
Damn! I've only played this for 6 hours, and I'm already seriously impressed. Almost every aspect of the game has sliders so you can tailor it to what you want. Houses are locked. Cars are locked. But you can slowly learn how to do everything. And if you can't get in a door, break a window (make sure to clear away the glass). The attention to detail and the realism is astounding. You have power to start with, but that will fade in a month, along with running water, because that's what would happen with nobody running things. But you can set that delay as high as you like (to the point it never turns off), or just turn it off right from game start if you feel that's the game you want to play. Do you want to cook? Better learn how (unless you started with some skill in cooking). And you need a pot. And a frying pan. Canned food? Need a can opener first. Want to chop wood? Better find a decent axe. No stone axe BS here. It seems like they've crafted every tiny detail about real life into the game, and it's only early access! I started with Strength, Firearms (I was a soldier IRL) and one other I can't think of right now. Then I picked Electrician for my profession (again, I am one IRL). These choices open up beginning of game skill bumps that let you do things somebody who made different choices won't have available. For example: I found a nice car that was open, but had no key. Because of my level in electrical, I was able to hotwire it! Now I have a vehicle. And yes, you can siphon gas from other vehicles. But you'd better have a jerry can or small gas jug to put in into. Vehicle driving is easy. WASD keys. And you can shift from first person to third person with the mouse wheel. Which is good. You need to be in 1st POV to start the car, since you have to look at the ignition. You have to look at your headlight controls to turn on your lights. It's very immersive. Crafting is also very well done. You have to build yourself a work bench, and then assemble components you need from scavenged materials to build things out of those componets. And scavenging makes sense as to what materials you get. You can pretty much break down anything you find. Another thing about crafting is you need specific tools for specific jobs. Makes sense, right? You need to find hammers, nails, screw drivers, pliers, vice grips, circular saws...you get the idea. It lends a huge impact to what you find in the world. Did you just find a hardware store?? (queue angelic music). Zombie combat is as easy or as hard as you want to make it. My zombies always walk. They're undead, rotting flesh. They don't move fast. But I also made it so you have to get a head shot to kill them. Easy enough with one or two, but twenty?? In close proximity?? Run Forest, run!!! Weapons are abundant. And unexpected. Ever fight a zombie with a spoon? Or a fork? How about a computer keyboard? Absolutely hilarious! Yeah, 6 hours in and I'm hooked. Great game! I can't wait to see what they add to it in the months to come. If you like Zombie survival with a ton of options and an immersive world, you can't go wrong with this one.
Would recommend. Vein is great, I have played it for a few days on a buddies game, He turned on multiplayer really easy to join. Not once crashed in the 20 hours playing. The loot is awesome unlike other similar games where you find around 0-3 items in a house. The game does have its bugs, but none that make the game broken or unplayable. We have never had zombies spawn in our compound. What ever you do don't hook up a car to a tractor >< you will die and the car will have been flung away disappearing into the abyss. Combat feels decent, still can use some polish but its good. Parts they need to work on are shooting the bow with invisible arrows, trying to hit a crawling zombie ( hit box isn't really there), and maybe some different attacks with different weapons ( blunt vs pierce ) Other than that aiming in with a gun seems pretty good, or even hip firing with the reticle on your screen seems to be working pretty well. The game is still in early access but feels pretty good for an early access game. As some say there are a lot of the same thing, But isn't that all games from a small dev team like this? I don't expect everything to be different or an all amazing shinny game for $20 with a small dev team. They do have a lot of different houses and places to go. Yes some are cookie cutter but even games with a big team have cookie cutter stuff. They do need to work on the industrial side. At least making some things fit on what the building is. For the most part tho it i.
If you like The Walking Dead, you will like this too. The game fits this concept really well. My only wish is that we could customize and change buildings and cars more. It doesn't give you much creative freedom, so I wouldn't recommend it if you want to build a base completely from scratch. But the building and crafting are still very detailed and satisfying. Plus, it's extra fun if you play with your buds.
Giving this a yes recommended, with one major caveat. It is in early alpha still so expect game breaking bugs (lost a save due to all vehicles having no internal parts). However, as far as early access games go, there is a lot of stuff to do if you like the survival zombie genre. As others have said it is a mix of 7 Days to Die, DayZ, and Zomboid. I would recommended playing the demo, which is really nice to see if it plays for you. I have not had any major issues with my set up, but others have including my son who has an AMD 7800XT, while I run the 7900XT. He is on the am4 platform and I on am5. We ran every repair on his machine (game, DISM, SFC, updated all drives, etc.) and now he is able to play on his save, but when we play multiple on my save his computer crashes due to video driver corruption within 2 hours every time. So your mileage may vary. Now to the actual game. There is large amount of items and systems to the game. There are still some game/save breaking bugs, like state above, so I haven't gotten too attached to my saves. But it hurts when you've sank 10's of hours in to a save only to have to start all over again. I feel there are some balancing issues that are needed and it would be nice to have options to adjust game settings after the game is set up (changing difficulty, loot amount, etc.). You can do this via the command console but feel a UI menu would be better. I have really enjoyed the game so far, even with all of the bad listed above and I feel like, at least at this time, the developers are working very hard to fix bugs quickly, while still updating and adding new content to the game. You have vehicles to repair and various parts to swap out, though does require finding rare (needle in the haystack tools) to do most of the repairs. Watching videos to find the tools needed is a requirement or pure luck. There are key places to pick up the rare loot and may take several respawns to get it to appear, it is more about knowing where to find these locations. The locking picking can be tedious for two reasons. First, almost everything is locked, so you will spend hours on lock picking for pretty much everything. There are some ways to avoid this, such as trying to access through the garage instead of the front door for houses. Two, find similar loot from non-locked items so can be very disappointing. Except when it comes to specific items (e.g. locked crates, gun boxes, etc.) There is a lot of resources to be collected and a lot of things to build, make, or craft as you level up. Though no base building yet, only upgrading pre-built buildings; this however, is part of the game roadmap so should be added eventually. A nice variety of guns and ammo. I thing the current amount of ammo types is great. As it is enough that you have to pay attention to weapon and ammo that you have available, but not so overwhelming you have to be a gun enthusiast just to be able to find the right ammo for this specific gun/model. Looting is the same, there are various objects in the game and everything can be dismantled for crafting materials or used for certain or various purposes in the game. So things may not be obvious what there purpose is until you've spent time in game (e.g. flood lights have to be attached to a crafted battery to work). Haven't yet tested to see if you have hook up to any other source, as there doesn't appear to be an option until you build it into something else. There is a decent level up system, where you gain points from doing related tasks, then at every 25 levels you get a choice of perks to spend on or save. There about a dozen different skills with various benefits related to each, such as cooking, mechanical, electrical, lockpicking, strength, etc. Overall, it is a fun game that is still in its early stages and I'm excited of where it will end up. I've enjoyed 7DD during its development and feel I will have the same experience here.
