Varius

Varius is a retro-looking match the colour game with very simple, but engaging and often difficult gameplay. Basically you control a shuttle, sometimes two, by moving them up and down to deflect projectiles. Not only that, but you also have to change their colours to blue, yellow, red or green. The projectile’s colour and that of the shuttles need to match upon impact, otherwise your shuttle will shatter and you’ll lose. What makes it a little more challenging is that sometimes the projectile will have a different colour than those available to you because it has to bounce off of the barrier that your shuttle rests on. There are 3 game modes: Survive, which makes the projectile get progressively faster; Shatter, where your goal is to deflect the incoming projectile while also attempting to destroy the bricks; and Sequence, which requires you to remember the given sequence of colours. My personal favourite was Shatter. I could probably play that game mode for hours uninterrupted (and I will). Tactical efficiency/10.
