this was really stunning!! the art style is charming, the colour palette's rich, the character designs' distinctive, and the little animations throughout each segment really breathed extra life into an already vibrant experience. my heart harbours a particular love for the sound design, i recognised a good few of the instruments and they were masterfully blended together and paired with the story beats (kalimba for the child's bedroom and the myth, strings and a harp variant i suspect? for the stormy streets of the jupiter colony). i actually took a few moments to just sit and drink in the ambience of it. steam labeled this as atmospheric and they weren't kidding. the only notes i have in terms of improved gameplay experience is perhaps a few more nudging notes for the interactive segments (i.e manipulating the tea took me a minute as it wasn't clear what the game wanted me to do) and polishing the changes to the mouse icon (mine glitched in and out continuously during every loading screen). otherwise this was an immersive and delightful appetiser to what i'm sure will be a beautiful sci-fi fantasy journey. i will absolutely be first in queue when the full game is released.
Short narative experience promoting the full game. Rating: What?!/10 I will probably buy the full game as the art style and premise seem pretty neat. Edit: At the time of writing this review, the Steam Achievements for Mac (at least) are broken (you won't get any achievements), so if that's important to you, there you have it.
