Unheard Screams - King Leopold II's Rule Over The Congo

Usually, I really like this type of game: text-based stories or adventures with some interactions (and usually a cheap and fair price). But, I'm sorry, the final product fail to impress: the base for the story is very interesting (and I didn't know that, so I cheked it), but the game itself fails to deliver any real emotion and the more "gaming" part of the game is too simple to amuse anyone. On the other hand, the game is priced really good, and I think you can "spare" 2€ for a game like this. So, this is the classic problem with Steam review: this is a 6/10 game, and I don't feel to do not recommed it, but also I have to notice how it fails to be... a game! And, at the same time, the story is to thin to "grab" you. So... 6/10 (also for the fair price).

2.5/10 Interesting topic and good that it's steeped in history, and good that dev is trying to expose a topic not covered usually. Unfortunately gameplay sucks soo bad nobody wants to stick around. The whole thing is text based. All you do is click on villages, and a setence pops up. You go to a vendor and click to hire people and click to buy guns. Then you click on an area in captivity and then click attack. The combat isn't explained and doesn't make a lot of sense, or how to get money or do anything. I attacked a guy, lost my stuff and my money. But in reality game is soo boring and uninteresting to play I didn't really care. If you like reading go open a book, if you like only clicking on words go to any random website. Save yourself the money.

Tags: Tycoon&Simulator&Sim&City Additional Tags: Delete Local Content & Remove from Library TLDR: One half dry reading seemingly ripped off some history textbook, other half is text based guerilla simulator with superficial ressource management. Review: Audiovisually this looks like unity engine. Just some text boxes and some backgrounds. I could not be arsed with the setting. They mention first thing its not based on real events. The game itself is simple, you get 12 hotspots, each containing three bosses. Sometimes 1 Vendor. and around 8 NPCS. So you speak to a NPC that will say to go kill boss of Zone 11. You do that come back get reward. Sometimes it is easier to just kill anyone who is weaker than you and see the grateful npcs later. You get random + to your damage per second, your health and money, which you can use to get more health and damage per second. Every fight is a little bit of a slog as the armies just chip at each other turn by turn. The game also features some kind of special ability system by spending a limited number of hero points but I did not try that, I am sure if I had I would had probably beaten the game as I got quite far. Once you have your army, your guys and the boss guys will auto-resolve the battle by going turn by turn, game basically multiplies weaponry by people and applies to health of foe with a & to miss. Thats about all there is to that. Conclusion: There are a few good ideas here but the execution does not lead a compelling experience. Going to remove this for declutter.
