A subterranean puzzle-adventure game inspired by 90's era. There’s no handholding, no in-game menus, no messages from the devs, no tutorial. Some call it a marvel; some call it a good test for Steam's refund system. Certainly it’s not an easy game. Do you dare to puzzle? Just play savvy.

This game is hard to describe; there is an inspiration from Myst but it has it's quirks some of the controls are funky and a few glitches here and there but thats to be expected. If you expect this game to hold your hand if you get stuck then this isn't for you. It's truly a masterful game that will whoop you in submission with all of its puzzles. Really one of the main reasons I enjoyed it is cause of my pesky competitive streak. Check out the rest of my review: https://youtu.be/QgrKaqGuphI
Review powered by Mamilos Club Group.
I really enjoyed the immersive quality of this game. As a gamer I get tired of being overwhelmed with tutorials in-game and UnderEarth really delivers non-stop immersion in a huge, vibrant world. I recognize that not all people will enjoy the extensive puzzle solving involved in this type of game world. However, I definitely do. I am also a fan of games like Myst and Riven and while UnderEarth shares some similarities with those games, it's still a much more interactive and modern take on the puzzle/exploration genre. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience and will play it again in order to unlock more achievements and see more of the world. I highly recommend taking the plunge into this awe-inspiring game world. It's definitely a game that's tough at times, especially if you don't pay attention. Make sure you pay attention to the signs and papers lying around- and the buttons- once I started to do that things made a lot more sense! As for issues, I didn't come across anything bigthat intereferes with gameplay. Of course there's your random area that you worry you'll get stuck on (so far I haven't yet gotten'stuck' in this game) but I see that in AAA titles quite often. All in all, if you enjoy exploring a rich world and solving lots of problems (puzzles) in a game, this is probably the game for you. By the way, I first played this for about 4 hours on a friend's account and liked it so much I got my own copy just to play it again and write this review.
I enjoy this game a lot actually. Have yet to beat the game but it offers a challange with having to figure out the controls yourself which is easy for any true PC gamer. The atmosphere of the game is very unnerving and unsettling. If you do not like older games I would not recommend it to you since it is much like an old style game with new graphics. I love the puzzles and how far the saves are spread apart. When you hit a save point you feel like you achieved something.
Broken trash. Repeatedly refused to load into full screen and the proper resolution. The one time I get it to load into full screen (but still massively wrong resolution) it crashes and was resistant to closing it or even bringing the task manager up, despite the task manager being always on top. PLEASE AVOID.
I am 32 years old. My ex-wife and I have a daughter together, and we adopted our son together. Both are now 4 years old. When we were going through our separation, I felt lost and unhappy. I was self-destructive. One day, I was so angry with everything spiraling out of control that I punched a concrete wall in a moment of overwhelming emotion. This resulted in breaking my fifth metacarpal in my right hand—the hand I worked with, played games with, and used to carry my children to bed—the hand I desperately needed to ensure I could continue providing. Upon learning the severity of the self-inflicted damage, I became almost suicidal. Keep in mind that just a few months before this, I was the happiest man, with no history of depression or anxiety. I had never experienced anger outbursts, nor was I the type to break down and cry, but I was in a tough situation that truly prevented me from seeing the light on the other side. With nothing better to do, I looked for a game I could play WITH ONE HAND while recovering. Somehow, I stumbled upon this game and read some of the comments. I decided it was worth a try... I must admit I didn't beat the game, nor did I play as much as some of you. In fact, I may have played this game for only a day or two. That being said, after doing so, I had a new joy and hope for life. I managed to leave behind the pain and suffering that had been thrust upon me. I could experience the joy and happiness of other people. I relaxed for 5 ♥♥♥♥ minutes listening to this music, long enough to realize that I would be okay. After realizing this, I turned off the game and went back to work. My hand hurt a lot, but I was motivated. I stopped feeling so sorry for myself and became the father I needed to be at that moment, not the weak boy I was behaving like. Today, I am close friends with the mother of my children. We don't fight, argue, or say hurtful things to each other. We are parents and friends. Now I have 3 children. My third child is, wait, ALSO 4 YEARS OLD. The woman I am with was going through a very similar situation at the time of my separation, and we just unexpectedly stumbled into each other's lives. We have been dating for a year and are very happy together. Moral of the story: you never know what life has in store for you, and if I had given up when all odds were against me, I wouldn't be where I am today. This silly little game helped me realize that. Thank you.
