Great game! It's a (slice of) classic 2D Zelda with a fake mustache. Nothing more, nothing less. 4 or 5 main dungeons, new items to find that will also unlock paths and secrets on the overworld. There are puzzles. There are caves and cliffs you need bombs to open. There are bushes to slice and crates to smash. There are fish to catch and pieces of heart that give you a full heart when you collect four of them. There are items to exchange, sidequests to complete, materials and coins to collect to upgrade your gear. You know the drill, you've probably played this a million times, and it absolutely still rules. Only downside: the story seemingly stops making sense after 10 minutes, when your character (who seems like a regular, actual teenage girl from our actual world) isn't surprised to meet some kind of ancient bird-person who sends her on a quest. The characters aren't very memorable either. Honestly not a big deal, Just like actual Zelda, I wasn't here for the story anyway. If you want a taste of classic Zelda in disguise, this is the one.
An excellent entry in the vein of "Zelda-Likes", this one specifically taking a bit of influence from Links Awakening (my personal favorite since I was a kid). A really fun and great game, lots of heart, very well crafted, tons of secrets. A real joy to play.

Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1/day in the week to Jul 21 → 0.2/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Hits that adventure itch just right with lots of stuff to explore and find for 100%. Highly recommend for any lovers of old snes era games.
I decided to try this game out after recently getting into the top down 2D puzzle type genre. Overall this one was the easiest out of the 5 I have played recently but does not make it a bad game. The "boss" fights were more gimmicks than actually fighting which I did not mind. The exploring was fun and really enjoyed the atmosphere, art style, and music. You can definently tell a lot of heart went into the game.
A fun action-puzzle RPG! The writing is fun and engaging. Feels like a very traditional RPG with a few fun twists.
Great game. Some nice 2D Zelda vibes, but with way more rewards for actually exploring the world.
Under the Island is a charming modern top-down zelda-like. While playing, I couldn't help but feel a bit nostalgic for the ol gameboy LoZ games like Link's Awakening. Though I thoroughly enjoyed my time playing, like everything else, there is room for improvement: Cons: 1) Combat is alright, but I do wish it was better. The hockey stick is your main weapon, but sometimes I wish it felt less "stuck" while using it. To clarify, it feels good to attack in one direction, but switching directions while swinging the hockey stick is not seamless. I also wish the fire flower weapon had either a shorter charge-up time or fired much more quickly. 2) Lack of logs/notes. Nia tells you a quick summary and what she should aim to do next upon loading up your save, this is a great refresher in-between play sessions, but I wish there was a logging/note system for side quests/extras. For example: Having a section in the item menu that tells you how many cassette tapes you collected or how many murals you have uncovered/seen would be very handy. 3) Some bugs here and there. The most egregious one I've come across is that despite defeating the final boss a few times now, I have been unable to unlock the "Masterful Adventurer" Achievement. Otherwise, I haven't come across any game breaking bugs. Pros: 1) Lots of heart/charm (format, visuals/graphics, soundtrack, etc.). You can tell the devs have a soft spot for old top-down zelda-likes too and it's nice for players who also appreciate similar games. 2) Price is very fair. Though I do wish there was more gameplay, I cannot complain that for what I paid, I got a very solid, fun gameplay experience. 3) Much like the top-down zelda games I've mentioned, this game has a good mix of combat, puzzles, exploration, and collectibles. Overall, I do recommend anyone who is a fan of top-down zelda-likes to give this game a try!
A cute little zelda-like that doesn't always know what it wants to be, but not in a bad way.
