It's good. It's really, really good.
This game made me a lesbian, 10/10.
good
as a rhythm game, i really like the different rhythm games.. or rhythm minigames or something in the story mode, i wish there was a way to play them outside of that. the arcade mode is like a standard rhythm game, which if is what you are looking for, is good. go listen to the music. so the story. it's messy. it kind of drags you along in the first two episodes, which is, well, a 3rd of the story, though by the third episode, everything starts making more sense and onward. still, the story keeps jumping over explaining how or why some things happen? bugs and some design choices often chip away at you while you try to enjoy the story. those are the not fun parts. those aside, i finished the game literally just now and i don't know what to say about the ending yet. but the dialogue is really good. it's the most consistent part of the writing, and it's impactful. it almost makes up for the flaws of the storytelling. this, and the flaws, though, makes the game feel especially real, like, a creation made with a little of every kind of thing their creators are, and that feels nice. that and the art (including the visual variety) also speaks for the story. though i really wouldn't complain if the bugs were fixed i rate 4/5 stars
UNBEATABLE is one of my favourite games of all time. It's rough around the edges but it is oozing with passion from every single possible place it could be oozing with passion. the story mode is one of the most touching pieces of art I have consumed in my life and [arcade mode] adds serious replayability after you're done with story mode, too. I can also confirm it runs great on both Steam Deck and Steam Machine both with zero tinkering required. I first ran it on some old Lenovo with Linux Mint 22 so can also confirm it runs on distros other than SteamOS. the DLC content is entirely optional, they only add content to [arcade mode] as far as i'm aware. as someone who enjoys UNBEATABLE [arcade mode] i think they're worth it but it doesn't really matter otherwise. i'd say you should wait and see if you enjoy [arcade mode] and consider picking them up if you do. Overall i highly recommend UNBEATABLE to anyone who likes rhythm games (or is perhaps just interested in trying one, it's easy to pick up)
THERE'S DOOMED YURI AT THE END
UNBEATABLE? Clearly not because I beat the game.
This is not a story about love. But it is a story regarding that which has been lost and is still to be found. While there may be slight issues with load time or frame lag at random moments, it occurs few and far between through my playtime. UNBEATABLE contains so many songs that you would never have thought you could hear and blends them beautifully into a rhythm game and story, not to mention the astounding works created by other artists and feature in the Arcade Mode. I'm not much of a rhythm game player but I still love them and would definitely recommend it to other rhythm game players who enjoy a story with playable songs and minigames throughout.
