About
This is Tyr, a tank shooter where positioning, strategic decision-making, and mastery of unique abilities win.
Tyr features a roster of specialized armored vehicles and pilots. You’ll take control of treaded and hover tanks alike as you angle & position for defense, and rumble and glide across the battlefield.
Each vehicle also offers its own tech tree and ammo & component slots, affording you the ability to upgrade and evolve your ride to suit your playstyle. You may even be able to change up your vehicle’s unique keystone tech to dynamically alter your personal meta.
Each vehicle features a unique power that impacts Tyr’s moment-to-moment play on the battlefield. A tank may have the ability to blink several vehicle lengths forward or back, send out a sonar pulse to spot enemies, or overcharge its engine to ram directly into an opponent and deal massive damage.
In Tyr, you and your opponents will only be visible when within range or while making enough noise. Deciding when to push forward and when to fire from cover could mean the difference between staying hidden and revealing your position to the entire enemy team, so play carefully.
Tyr will test your mental mettle, patience, and teamwork, as deliberate play beats whoever can fire the fastest.
Multiplayer tank shooter - Engage in strategic team battles with heavy-armored vehicles
A roster of heavy armor - Tanks in Tyr each feature a unique armor profile that you can angle and position to deflect enemy shots in the heat of battle
Vehicle customization - Individual tech trees, ammo slots, and component upgrades for each tank

Asymmetric vision - Position yourself correctly, and you’ll see the enemy and spot them for your team, while the enemy can't see you in return
Unique vehicle abilities- Each tank has a distinct ability that makes moment-to-moment play more high-stakes and interesting
Strategy beats twitch reflexes - Run and gun gameplay gets punished by careful positioning and slow, deliberately placed shots to disable enemies

This game is a masterpiece. 80% of the neg reviews i see are people either complaining about bad teammates, (youll find that in any multiplayer game) or people complaining about a lack of chat. (i think its smart not to include chat, as you wont have the time to type much in detail, and the pings get across pretty much all the information youd need too, I.e, "Going here!" "shoot this enemy!" "Thank you!" "Advance!", etc. plus, the chat censoring would just be an unnecessary annoyance for the devs, considering that there is no censoring program that is good enought to the point where noone will complain about it.) The community is chill, the game is fun, there's little to no meta, so STOP LOOKING FOR A REASON NOT TO TRY TYR and join in on the fun!

Fast paced little tank shooter. I have big hopes for the future
Game is great. Could it be better? Yes. But the bones are there and the game feels good to play. You can take it as seriously or as silly as you want. Many different play styles to choose from with a fun progression system. Youre rewarded for playing other tanks and playstyles as well. There is in fact very little comms, and youll have to rely on pings or your 3-man squad. The pings need to be more fleshed out, especially if there will be no in game chat. For an Early Access Free to Play game, this is the new bar. (I have never played WoT or War Thunder)
hell yeah
This game badly needs an infinite respawn gamemode.
its pretty good
Stell dir vor du spielst World of Tanks. Aber du hast spaß
I don't have a ton of time for games these days, but Tyr has captured nearly all my attention. This is my first vehicle shooter and the first PvP game in years that I can't get enough of. I racked up about 330 hours in the playtest phase from January through August; and I plan to play Tyr consistently for as long as it is available. Excited to see where Stoke take Tyr in the future.
Amazing game, I would recommend anyone that enjoys tank games like WoT to try this immediately; the game is free, so there is really no downside. There is no p2w in this game, as you can only buy cosmetics. The balance is really good currently, and the devs seem active with biweekly patches. If you enjoy slow, methodical games, this is the one for you.
