An older, yet still fun platformer for a free game.
Начну сразу с минусов: звуковое сопровождение начинает бесить где-то через час игры, а яркость финального экрана заставляет щуриться. В остальном мне понравилось. Вся игра это подготовка к последнему уровню.
"Two Colours" is one of literally thousands of retro 2D platformers infesting Steam and lowering the average quality of all video games everywhere... and I'm not kidding. Searching for "platformers" on the Steam store page yields over 17,000 results! Is this one of the best of those? Absolutely not. This badly made minimalist puzzle/action platformer relies on a simple gimmick that's been done better by other developers elsewhere. Basically the background colour changes to indicate which platform surfaces are okay to touch (red for red, blue for blue). That's it, that's all there is to it. What a waste of $100 USD on Steam Direct. Platforming is an old, mostly dead genre, and this lacklustre experience, while it doesn't have an upfront cost, isn't saving the genre... it's no surprise this failed to capture any attention from gamers in the era of immersive 3D gaming. So this looks like an old 1990's Adobe Flash game that you might play in a web browser, and the problem there is obviously Steam wasn't intended to try compete with Chrome and Firefox. If it can be done in a web browser, it's not even close to a cutting edge PC gaming experience. That's a problem. This game features very lacklustre minimalist "art" for graphics instead of anything remotely contemporary. I'm sure the "developer" thought this would come across as "artistic", but it doesn't, it comes across as "really lazy". Yes, contemporary 3D graphics take a lot of time and effort to create. That doesn't mean it's okay not to bother! Developers must try to understand that gaming is a visual medium, and gamers spend a lot of money on high end gaming rigs for a reason. And that reason is not so they can look at lazy, phoned-in half efforts like this. Now on to pricing and value for gamers. This is "free" enough (not every "free" game in the "free" section is truly free, there's usually some hidden price tag), at least you won't be expected to spend any more money after you download this, but just because something is free doesn't mean it's good, and the cost of a game is more than just financial, your time is valuable too. In terms of public reception, this failed. There's over 130 million unique gamers visiting Steam every month. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 8 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? This is a hard pass. There's no immediate financial commitment, but there are thousands of more compelling games on the platform that will give you a lot more enjoyment for your time.

I have to hand credit to your mom for playtesting this gem. It plays nice, is highly fun and addictive, some high octane block shoving rhythm mini-game. Very well designed. The music however gets in your brain 2 quickly lol, some variations would have bene nice. Overall gg. I like it xd
this game relies on remembering stuff (like where platforms are, the drops etc) and on jumping almost exactly when the background is about to change because you dont jump 2.5 blocks, heck, not even 2.3 block but around 2.05 which means you have to hug the wall of a block to get onto it but you cant because its the wrong color. if those were fixed, maybe the game would be better like maybe movement on wasd and camera on arrow keys? that would be a good idea excluding that, its good if you could make a neutral recomendation, i would, but sadly i cant, and i dont want to be mean... so yeah thats why a positive one also you could make something for deaf people, like a counter in the corner or something
I liked how each level was short, sure on the dropper levels half the time I couldn't see where I was falling or the levels where multiple paths existed where I would chose every wrong path before I got it. But the levels were short i could just try again a fun short game. Until level 20, the previous level had gimmick than level 20 hits and its just long level go brrrr no checkpoints or new colors just pain. I get it final level has to be hard but make it cool make it memorable then just "long" like it would've been way cooler if it had the hardest parts of all the previous levels idk I'm just throwing things out there. Other than that it was fun and 100% free :)

The death sound effect is lovely
Pretty fun game, simple but challenging enough.
