TV Archive: Tidy Up Together

La reseña negativa va por el uso de IA, me he dado cuenta que hay muchos juegos de este estilo que suelen utilizarla. Por lo demás me ha entretenido mucho, solo le pongo la pega que cuando sueltas la cinta a veces desaparece, aunque por suerte puedes hacer que esta vuelva a su posición original.

My friend and I have been having so much fun with this game. But I have to say, WHY IS THE RUG SO GROSS. Every time I catch a glimpse of it, I'm like WHYYYYYY. Otherwise, Love it, it's been a lot of fun.

This game was a little odd being thrown back to time of VHS but it was super fun! The cases have a front and back and are different on each side much like an actual vhs, some of the titles are hilarious and a few were a little hard to figure out what category they fell into by just going by a title and the picture. All in all I had fun and even got all the achievements for this game.

I’m a massive fan of the clean up/sorting genre of games and this one definitely scratches that itch. You start with a video store of thousands of VHS tapes all over the place which need to be sorted into genres and placed in the correct order on the shelves. If you’ve played other sorting games they’re all very similar with just different layouts and items. What I also liked about this one is there are sometimes multiple series of certain VHS tapes. So if you’re feeling particularly picky then you can also think about sorting the shelves in order of series as well (although the game doesn’t require you to do this) I’ve seen a lot of reviews complaining about the use of AI for the video artwork so whether that bothers you or not is down to personal preference. What I would say is the artwork didn’t look bad or sloppy to me. The controls are easy to use and the music is ok, not amazing but also not super annoying. I’m 2.5hrs in with still A LOT of videos to tidy and thoroughly enjoying it.

I don't often like to leave negative reviews but the abundance of AI art in this one bothers me. I love the shelving genre that has inexplicably sprung up but this one just isn't as good. The environment is boring for no good reason, I'm old enough to remember blockbuster it was colourful and filled with fun standees. They haven't even bothered to include a fun 80's carpet. There's no reason to lay your skills out in a skill tree if they unlock linearly anyway, and not being able to pick which skills you want makes it more difficult to play the way you enjoy. Having a numbered sequence of tv series tapes makes sense, doing the same with movies is obvious nonsense. The whole thing is badly thought out and badly implemented.
