This will perhaps be the most emotional game of 2025. It is a masterclass on environmental storytelling. As a person who voted for Kamala Harris and a former Biden supporter, the game really makes you feel empathy for President Trump as he is forced to navigate his way through the corrupt political systems of ungrateful countries such as Canada and Ukraine in order to collect the tariffs we are owed as Americans. The Ukraine level made me tear up as Trump was made to find his way through a burned out column of Abrams tanks, symbolizing the billions we wasted on that meaningless war. Game is 10/10, buy immediately, can't wait for the sequel.

this game completely changed my perception on trump's tariffs. i think he should tariff russia tenfold now because you guys made this game. i see the tariffs in a very positive light now thanks to this game.
It's awful. The colors are so bright and saturated that it hurts your eyes.
It is a game that allows you to walk in various lands and find each flag that are hidden in those lands. Currently, the game has 7 maps, including a "Muskland". By the way, I like how some of the maps are pretty cool and interesting. I don't like that the Canada map and the Finland map are lack of uniqueness. Should have put a bunch of Tims stores into the map to make the map being ironic. Overall, good game.
Trump Tariff, developed by Valkeala Software in collaboration with Tero Lunkka and published by the same studio, is a small-scale indie platformer that combines a deliberately unusual premise with very straightforward gameplay. It presents itself as a light, almost satirical experience, but in practice it leans far more heavily on its mechanical simplicity than on any deeper thematic exploration. What you get is a compact, no-frills collectathon that relies on repetition, timing, and memorization rather than evolving systems or layered design. The gameplay structure is immediately clear. Each level places the player in a contained 3D environment themed around different global locations, where the main objective is to locate and collect a designated item—typically a flag—while navigating a series of hazards. These hazards range from spinning blades and environmental traps to explosive obstacles that can abruptly reset progress. The absence of checkpoints adds a layer of tension, as even small mistakes force players to retrace their steps and attempt sections again. This design creates a loop that is heavily reliant on trial and error, encouraging players to gradually learn level layouts and refine their movements over repeated attempts. Mechanically, the game remains extremely simple throughout. Movement and jumping are the only real tools at your disposal, and there are no additional abilities, upgrades, or systems introduced as you progress. While the controls themselves are generally functional and responsive enough to support the platforming, they do little to elevate the experience beyond its most basic form. The lack of mechanical growth means that the gameplay does not meaningfully change from one level to the next, and the challenge comes almost entirely from obstacle placement rather than new ideas. Visually, the game attempts to create variety through its different environments, each representing a distinct setting. While this approach adds some superficial diversity, the overall presentation feels uneven. Some areas show glimpses of creativity, but the assets and design choices often lack cohesion, giving the game a somewhat rough and inconsistent look. The minimalist production values are evident throughout, from the environments to the interface, reinforcing the sense that this is a low-budget project built around a simple concept rather than a polished, fully realized world. The tone of the game is one of its more unusual aspects. While it draws on political imagery and references for its premise, it does not develop these elements into meaningful commentary or narrative. Instead, the concept serves primarily as a backdrop for the gameplay, resulting in an experience that feels more quirky than purposeful. For some players, this may add a layer of novelty, but for others, it may come across as underdeveloped, as the game never fully commits to either satire or storytelling. As the game progresses, its limitations become increasingly apparent. The level design, while functional, offers limited variation, and the reliance on similar hazards and objectives can make the experience feel repetitive. Without new mechanics or evolving challenges, the sense of progression is minimal, and the game risks losing momentum once players have become familiar with its core loop. This is further reflected in its relatively short length, as the content can be completed in a brief amount of time with little incentive to revisit once finished. Replayability is therefore quite limited. There are no alternative modes, branching paths, or significant variations that would encourage multiple playthroughs. The primary motivation for returning would be to improve performance or revisit levels for completion’s sake, but the lack of depth in the underlying systems makes this less compelling compared to more robust platformers. In the end, Trump Tariff is a modest and narrowly focused indie title that offers a simple platforming experience wrapped in an unconventional premise. It delivers a functional gameplay loop that can provide short bursts of challenge, but it is held back by its lack of variety, limited mechanics, and minimal polish. For players looking for a quick and inexpensive diversion, it may offer some mild entertainment, but it falls short of delivering a more engaging or lasting experience. Rating: 5/10
