TROUBLESHOOTER: Abandoned Children is the first season of a turn-based strategy SRPG that takes place in the world of Troubleshooter.

Valhalla is a free trading nation erected by three world powers for their own benefits after the world war. In an attempt to control the nation, the three world powers banned the army from Valhalla. Due to these circumstances, public order in Valhalla is always unstable and thus after ten years the Valhalla government made a bold decision.
The Valhalla government granted civilians the right to investigate and arrest criminals in order to lower the rising crime rate. People call them Troubleshooter.
10 years have passed since the introduction of the troubleshooter system. Albus, a 20-year-old young man, becomes an official troubleshooter. Albus first starts his company on his own but soon takes in many colleagues as he solves more cases. All these new members of the company have their own motivations and stories. You will be experiencing a variety of missions in Valhalla through their stories.

All characters in Troubleshooter have their own unique classes. Each character can rank up to the upper class, and the role of your character changes according to the class.
All characters in Troubleshooter can acquire various masteries according to their levels and classes. Furthermore, you can activate additional effects by combinations of masteries. Utilizing this, you can make a character for your unique strategy.
Such masteries can be acquired by leveling your character up. However, in most cases, you can acquire masteries from enemies. In other words, you can take your enemies' unique traits and apply them to your characters.
There are more than 100 unique missions in Troubleshooter. All missions are designed independently, and all of them have their own unique circumstances.
Troubleshooter uses more than 500 cut scenes to portray the story.
As new characters join your company, playable content will be unlocked according to their roles. For example, if you recruit a hunter character, you will be able to tame beasts. You will be able to craft drones if you recruit engineers.

87 / 100 - Better than all XCOMs? (in most regards, yes) Easily in Top 5 Best TRPG / SRPG - Hours 0-15 = Too easy, a little slow / grindy, convoluted menus / direction. - Hours 16-40 = Difficulty increases, mechanics & features start showing their intended value. - Hours 40-60+ = This game is impressive! New content & systems regularly appear. By biggest complaints are early game & story / characters (not a fan of JRPGs). However, everything else is great.
T:AC is a tactical turn-based game with the actual battles largely resembling X-com. However, the real beauty of T:AC lies outside of the battles, boasting a depth and breadth that really leaves X-com wanting. Here you find perhaps the deepest character customization of any game you have ever played. With over 800 swappable skills (called Masteries in-game) to learn, hundreds more combinations of those masteries to join together into sets, hundreds of crafting recipes (tools, gear, materials, weapons, etc.) , easily 100+ unique enemy types (some of which drop unique gear/masteries), food recipes, animal taming, robot construction, an on and on. There is no shortage of out-of-battle tweaking and optimization to be done. Pros: +++ Hand-crafted campaign maps are numerous and well-done. +++ Difficulty seems well set to force you to experiment with different builds. +++ 12 unique characters, each with 2/3 subclass specialties, including access to unique subclass masteries. ++ While the onslaught of things to do out of battle seems daunting, it is introduced at a nice slow pace. ++ Excellent tactical battles. ++ A short browsing of old posts and threads shows a dev team that cares a lot. ++ The character progression is well-done and you don't feel as though your characters have topped out before the end of the 1st DLC. (Nothing worse then a game which continues on long after your character can't get any better.) ++ UI was pretty serviceable and intuitive for the many, many systems in place. + Story was pretty good for many characters and overall. + Crafting system was OK, though a bit obtuse at first. Cons: --- Needing to craft a separate mastery for different mastery-loadouts within a character is nuts. -- Though the story was decent enough, having to click through mountains of dialogue for the many secondary (and tertiary) characters was a bit much at times. Perhaps less exposition for the less important characters is advised. -- More loading screen time than I would like, especially needing to go to Spooner Street to get the meal perk I always wanted. Also, needing extra clicks to pay employees a bonus and to identify items was cute as first, but grew tedious. If you know the player is always going to want to do something, just do it for them automatically. -- Too much farming and repetition needed for certain masteries. - Capturing animals could be tedious; and if you fail, a big waste of time. Summary: Not sure how I have been tracking turn-based games for years and only stumbled upon this gem tangentially. If you like to optimize builds and eke every point of efficiency out of your toons, then this game is definitely for you, and it may well be unsurpassed in that role across all of gaming. If you are that type of gamer, then this game is a must-buy. That said, if that sort of thing doesn't float your boat, then tread carefully with this one. Overall: 9.5/10

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

It's an Anime RPG x X-Com. Fun gameplay and progression, likeable many characters, interesting worldbuilding, all of the mentioned interwoven into an intricate storyline. It's also a theory builders' heaven. It's not without flaws, but given how enjoyable the game is, they can be ignored. Would recommend to tactical RPG enjoyers.
I don't usually write reviews, but upon reading some decided to do so now. I too, found this game through a meme. It didn't even appear as a suggestion from Steam (which I guess Steam did a ♥♥♥♥ job because I played the bejeezus out of the xcoms). Bottom line: The game is FUN. The characters are FUN. The combat is FUN. I didn't catch friendly fire yet, don't know if it exists in the game, but the hit chance displayed feels MUCH more accurate than the X-com games (no 3 97% hit chance misses in a row for example). I also saw someone having issues with the English localization - nope. Either it was fixed by the time I started playing, or it was never an issue. The way it's written gives a very specific vibe that fits the story. So do the clothes, and outfits. I didnt progress too far yet, but I don't think my opinion will change for the worse. It even lets you play as the "bad guys" occasionally, and other characters. Did I say IT'S FUN yet? The ONLY nitpick is the mastery system. It might be my personal retardation, but I'm not entirely sure how the research works yet... It seems to be fine, as I manage to click things and get things, but not much logical thinking on my end is involved :)
Road to 1000 horas playeadas wey

This has easily become of of my favorite Tactical Rpgs of all time, the game play, story, music, and characters are all incredibly well done. Missions feel fresh with the diversity of goals and challenges. Character arcs are super well written and i'm only a bit halfway through. Another bonus is that the game has checkpoints so if you happen to be 40 minutes into a mission and have an enemy escape or you make a mistake, you're not severely punished. Combat feels great, you're not plagued by X-Com hit chance, but you're also not invincible. The few downsides though, side quests feel kinda terrible as they are just miscellaneous equipment that will either get instantly replaced or is usually worse. There is no English Audio, didn't bother me but might turn off others. The police A.I can be really dumb if you don't nudge them along the way. 8.5/10 Absolutely would recommend this.
The Standard of Modern SRPG.
Playable shonen anime with X-Com combat. It has a slow start, but eventually gets going. There's quite a bit of character building depth through passives (called masteries).
