Trials of Yarbil

Fun little combat game. There's a surprising amount of depth to the interactions. It's a game that gets a lot out of a few key elements. It feels super satisfying to slash things. If you're looking to buy, it's about 30 minutes of gameplay. I have no idea if I'm good at it or not, but I would love to see some more content / elements in this game. What's in it is good. Every level feels strategic to play, and I found myself genuinely challenged at times.

This is a promising start. The graphics are basic but functional; adding a bit more animation to the player and the background could help make the environment feel less static and more lively, especially with the empty space around the playfield. Including some music and atmospheric sounds, such as the movement of the player and enemies, echoes, or burning torches and ground from bombs, would also enhance the immersion. The game is quite fun, though I found the difficulty ramps up a little too quickly. The jump from level 6 to 7, in particular, feels like a significant leap. Additionally, if I don’t move unless I’m right next to an enemy, nothing happens—consider having some of the enemies patrol slowly within a small area to add some variety and reduce the static feeling. I’ve also noticed that it’s possible to damage enemies through walls, which might be an unintended mechanic. Overall, keep up the good work; I’m looking forward to seeing how the game evolves with these updates.
