A cult, devoted to the dark god, Chernobog, has opened a rift between the mortal world and Chernobog's realm, where he has been imprisoned for centuries. From within the rift, darkness spreads out and threatens to envelope the entire world.

Short and sweet! Combat could do with some more variety Boss fight had a move that froze my screen for a bit but overall the game was very enjoyable for what it was! Especially liked being able to hoard the resources after having upgraded everything!

amazing indie game. i love the visuals and the last bossfight but the movement and combat is a little bit slow. also definetly make chernobog faster, by alot. that would definetly make it harder. 7/10 in total, cool game, area for improvement, short but fun. definetly play if your bored.
was a fun lil game, i'd suggest making everything faster, I know victor is "just a guy" type character but the final boss was super slow, i assume as a response to victors slow movement speed, perhaps replacing his block(which is also rather slow) with more of a dash through momentum swinging of his sword would allow you to speed up combat and breaking of resources, overall 7/10, fun game might draw some fan art and play future updates
its a game. combat is painfully slow.
"Trial of Sacrifice" is a very badly made third person Unity brawler/ARPG-lite where you wander around a dungeon and wave a comically oversized sword and various skeleton assets, then quickly uninstall the game. While the visuals are very poor, the gameplay is worse, being a sluggish, un-fun, barely playable mess. The game was purportedly made by a bunch of college graduates, and I'm guessing they graduated something important for society like "Emoji Studies" or "iPhone Usage 101", rather than game development. Because if these guys graduated in game development and this is all they can work out how to make, they should be asking for their money back. The game is really simple and unambitious in terms of implementation, more of a tech demo or one of those cases where an amateur developer spends $100 to publish something on Steam Direct to see if it's possible. Yes, obviously it's possible. A proof of concept, tech demo, or something that's less than a little blip on the radar isn't offering anything truly valuable to gamers. I'm not sure if this is an asset flip, but it's one of those cases where the assets just look (slightly) better than the rest of the quality of the game... a glaring inconsistency. There's no evidence, but as always, the biggest problem with asset flips besides the plagiarism is the deplorably low quality of the other aspects of the game, and even if the game assets are genuinely created for the game, the quality of the rest of the game is indistinguishable from that of asset flips. The developer chose not to do the job of a real game developer and create meaningful bespoke levels, narrative based gameplay progression and so on. Instead, they decided that "Procgen IS content!" and lazily tried to use procgen algorithms to create infinite, samey, repetitive, soulless levels, because that's a lot less work. As a result of this poor decision, the game gets tired and repetitive almost immediately. Developers must learn that procgen is a terrible substitute for creating real content. It should not be used as "ez-mode" for content creation, as the developer tried to do here. Now on to pricing and value for gamers. This is "free" enough (not every "free" game in the "free" section is truly free, there's usually some hidden price tag), at least you won't be expected to spend any more money after you download this, but just because something is free doesn't mean it's good, and the cost of a game is more than just financial, your time is valuable too. In terms of public reception, this failed. There's over 130 million unique gamers visiting Steam every month. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 2 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? Not this time. This isn't worth downloading. While this won't cost you any money, you get what you pay for, and sometimes, even when the game is free, it's still not enough.
