Well I tried "No Jumpscare Mode" because I thought it would not have jumpscares. It still had jumpscares about every 5 minutes. Must have been a joke by the dev. Fool me once, shame on you. Aside from that all of the plot is dumped on you in the beginning and end so most of the gameplay is just you walking around a maze.
So...... This was a real quick game where you just run around collect so many dolls and the game is over. It is a jump scare hide and seek like game limited to a maze in the trenches. The replayable aspect would only be if there were steam achievements otherwise it is 0 for replayability as no real need to play again. The main jump scares are not random but programmed until more towards the last doll and a game that quick is not worth 9.99 the current listing price. I'd say $5 or $1 from a bundle. My score on it is 5.5 out of 10. There are other things but I will report those bugs to the dev to help improve the game.
Wasn't able to finish the game and I think that says a lot. T_T
Not fun... there were many times that I hid in the areas designated to hide in... and the creature would just camp right outside so the only thing I could do was step out... die... and restart. I really liked the concept of a World War 1 horror game... it's not been done very many times at all. But I just wasn't having a good time with this one.
I unfortunately really didn't enjoy the game. I play a lot of horror games, small and big productions, and this one is... cheap. I want to start with the good stuff: the graphics and the sound are AMAZING. The thunders scared the s**t out of me pretty often. Problem is what I think is the most important thing in a game: the GAMEplay. Personal opinion: if there's something that I hate in horrors are mazes, monsters chasing for you because yes, and cheap jumpscares (aka a jumpscare that happens because f**k you that's why). And this is literally that: it's like playing slenderman. Find the dolls while a monster chases you, hide, and get scared at random because the game decided so. But if you like "slenderman-clones", this stuff is indeed for you, go for it.
Played this closer to release date for a few hours and didn't come back until recently here in Oct '24. This game is relentless. Jumpscares to keep you on your toes, microphone can be picked up so you have to stay quiet at all times even outside of the game, and the "monster" searching for you at all times as you chase down crying baby dolls. Tons of lore and tools to find in the game as well, if you care enough about the story. If you are a speed runner, this feels like a good one to try out.

The jump scares are more funny than they are scary, but i enjoyed myself
