Bro is bathing more than I did in years. Anyways. Crazy atmosphere, my favourite kind of graphics, too. Loved the game. Only issue is that it's too dark even at max brightness monitor.

Amazing horror game. Choosing who we played as in this game really added to the horror and helplessness of it. Especially because what occurred to our character is a real tragedy that continues world wide. Had me scared there was someone in my house.
hi this game has been giving me brainworms for 3 years ago today. im beyond excited for a continuation and i like to draw the mc ( my fan design) and give him traits and hes kinda my oc but i just so deeply relate to the experience of having to witness your mom be abused by a boyfriend etc, and also seemingly abused yourself. its very relatable and i enjoy projecting onto the mc and ive been theorizing foreverrr i really reccomend it i have brainworms so bad (Autism)
Einfach weird.
Developed by Laud Games and published by Laud Publishing, TRAFFIC is a free-to-play first-person psychological horror game that takes a deeply personal approach to fear by focusing on emotional trauma, family struggles, and unsettling realism rather than action-heavy survival mechanics. Set in Wyoming during the financial recession of 2008, the game follows a young child living in a troubled household where everyday life slowly gives way to feelings of paranoia and dread. Drawing inspiration from real experiences, documented events, and unsettling stories, the narrative aims to create horror through believable situations instead of relying solely on supernatural elements. This grounded premise immediately separates the game from more traditional horror titles, giving it a distinctly intimate and emotionally charged atmosphere. The gameplay revolves around exploration and interaction within the family home, where players complete simple daily responsibilities while uncovering clues about the unsettling reality surrounding them. Speaking with family members, performing household chores, and securing doors and gates may sound routine on paper, but these ordinary tasks become increasingly nerve-racking as the story unfolds. The game carefully builds suspense through environmental storytelling, subtle dialogue, and the constant feeling that something is wrong beneath the surface. Rather than guiding players with excessive exposition, it encourages observation and interpretation, rewarding those who pay attention to small visual and narrative details hidden throughout the environment. TRAFFIC excels in its presentation by creating an atmosphere that feels oppressive from beginning to end. Its retro-inspired visual style gives the environments a nostalgic appearance while simultaneously making them feel eerie and unpredictable. The lighting, weather effects, and carefully designed interiors reinforce the sense of isolation, transforming an ordinary suburban home into a place filled with anxiety. Sound design is equally effective, using quiet moments, distant noises, and unsettling ambient audio to keep players on edge. Instead of overwhelming players with constant jump scares, the game understands that anticipation and uncertainty often create more lasting tension than sudden shocks. The game's strongest feature is undoubtedly its narrative. Rather than centering on monsters or elaborate paranormal threats, TRAFFIC explores difficult subjects such as domestic conflict, psychological trauma, abuse, depression, sleep paralysis, and violent crime. These mature themes are woven into the story with the intention of creating an emotionally impactful experience rather than simple shock value. As the mystery develops, players gradually begin to understand the emotional burden carried by the protagonist, making the horror feel deeply personal. While this approach gives the game significant narrative depth, it also means the experience may not be suitable for players who are sensitive to emotionally intense subject matter. Mechanically, TRAFFIC remains fairly simple throughout its relatively short runtime. There are no complicated puzzles, elaborate progression systems, or combat encounters to master. Instead, the game focuses almost entirely on maintaining immersion through exploration and storytelling. This design choice may leave players seeking more interactive gameplay somewhat underwhelmed, but it also allows the narrative and atmosphere to remain the primary focus without unnecessary distractions. The concise length benefits the overall pacing, ensuring that the tension steadily escalates without overstaying its welcome. For a free-to-play release, TRAFFIC delivers an impressive level of quality in its visual presentation, sound design, and storytelling ambition. Its emotionally driven narrative, grounded setting, and immersive atmosphere combine to create a memorable psychological horror experience that lingers well after the credits roll. Although its limited gameplay mechanics and deliberate pacing may not satisfy everyone, players who appreciate narrative-focused horror games built around emotional tension and realistic fears will likely find it to be a rewarding experience. By replacing conventional horror clichés with believable human struggles, TRAFFIC offers something distinctive within the indie horror genre. TRAFFIC is a thoughtfully crafted psychological horror experience that succeeds through its emotional storytelling, immersive atmosphere, and mature themes. While its minimalist gameplay and slow pacing may not appeal to every audience, its commitment to realistic horror and compelling narrative makes it an impressive free title that stands out among story-driven indie horror games.
