Touhou Kouryudou ~ Unconnected Marketeers is a standout entry in the long-running Touhou Project series, developed by Team Shanghai Alice and published by Mediascape Co., Ltd. While the franchise has always been known for its intense bullet-hell gameplay, imaginative characters, and memorable music, this installment distinguishes itself by introducing a fresh progression system that adds a surprising layer of customization and replayability. Rather than simply relying on the traditional formula, the game successfully expands upon it while preserving the challenging spirit that fans expect. The story centers on the sudden appearance of mysterious ability cards throughout Gensokyo. These cards grant various powers and have become highly sought-after commodities among the region’s inhabitants. Curious about the source of this phenomenon and the motives behind it, the protagonists set out to uncover the truth. As with many Touhou games, the narrative serves as a framework for the action, but the concept of collecting and trading abilities is integrated directly into gameplay, making the story feel more relevant to the player’s experience than in some previous entries. Gameplay remains rooted in classic vertical-scrolling shooting action. Players weave through dense waves of enemy fire while eliminating foes and confronting bosses that unleash increasingly complex attack patterns. Precision movement remains essential, and success depends on understanding projectile behavior, maintaining focus under pressure, and learning from repeated attempts. The challenge level is substantial, but the game avoids feeling unfair because every pattern is designed with logic and consistency. Mastery comes through practice, observation, and persistence rather than random chance. The most significant addition is the ability card system. During each run, players earn currency that can be exchanged for cards providing unique benefits. Some increase offensive power, others improve survivability, while certain cards grant entirely new abilities that can alter the flow of combat. This feature transforms the structure of the game by allowing players to create different builds and experiment with strategies. As a result, repeated playthroughs rarely feel identical. The excitement of discovering useful combinations gives the game an extra layer of depth beyond simply clearing stages. This mechanic also makes the experience more accessible without compromising its difficulty. Newer players can select cards that provide additional resources or defensive advantages, helping them survive longer and gradually improve their skills. Veteran players, meanwhile, can optimize their card selections to pursue higher scores or more efficient clears. The flexibility offered by the system broadens the game's appeal and ensures that players of different skill levels can find satisfying ways to engage with its challenges. Boss battles remain one of the game's strongest features. Each encounter is filled with visually spectacular spell card attacks that showcase the creativity for which Touhou is famous. Projectiles form elaborate shapes and patterns that are as beautiful as they are dangerous. Every boss feels distinct, requiring players to adapt their positioning and strategy rather than relying on a single approach. The later stages deliver especially demanding encounters that test both mechanical skill and knowledge of the game's systems. Visually, Unconnected Marketeers embraces the colorful and energetic style that has defined the series for years. While it does not aim for cutting-edge graphical technology, it excels through artistic design and readability. Bright projectiles, detailed spell effects, and expressive character artwork create a vibrant presentation that keeps the action engaging even during the most chaotic moments. The game's visual identity remains instantly recognizable and contributes greatly to its charm. The soundtrack is another highlight. Touhou games have earned a reputation for exceptional music, and this installment continues that tradition with confidence. Stage themes provide momentum and atmosphere, while boss tracks elevate the tension of major encounters. The music enhances the sense of adventure and excitement throughout the campaign, often becoming just as memorable as the gameplay itself. Many tracks perfectly capture the blend of fantasy, mystery, and intensity that defines the Touhou universe. Despite its many strengths, the game is not entirely free of drawbacks. Players unfamiliar with bullet-hell shooters may find the difficulty intimidating, particularly during later stages. Additionally, some fans who prefer the more straightforward structure of older Touhou titles may not fully embrace the card-based progression system. However, these concerns are relatively minor when compared to the overall quality of the experience. The new mechanics enrich the gameplay without overshadowing the core shooting action that lies at the heart of the series. Touhou Kouryudou ~ Unconnected Marketeers succeeds because it manages to innovate while remaining faithful to its roots. The ability card system adds meaningful variety, the boss fights are consistently engaging, the music is outstanding, and the challenge level remains rewarding for dedicated players. It is a game that respects the traditions of the franchise while demonstrating a willingness to experiment with new ideas. For both long-time Touhou fans and enthusiasts of bullet-hell shooters in general, it stands as one of the more memorable and refined entries in the series. Rating: 9/10

東方原作の18作目 残機が増やしやすくその場でのコンティニューが5回可能 弾幕STG初心者の自分でもノーマルクリアできました
great

My first touhou game
アビリティカードの暴力で蹂躙するゲーム しかし雑魚敵が硬すぎて気持ち良くない 1ミスが重すぎる
The game is difficult, but it can be generous some times as well.
