Reviews
i need to start double checking store pages for Gen AI disclosures before i give games a shot. it's here, it's gross, and it looks really bad.
The story is really good, i didn't finished the game yet but im totally in with this narrative. Since the game is very cheap and good novel i fully recommend. PD: I don't use to write here, but since i saw a bad review by some anti-IA i feel i should recommend it. Story looks wrote by human and very interesting. It have AI tag and is visible. If you dont like games have nothing made by AI don't buy it, if you care only if game is good, buy it. But buy a game that you already know you won't like to bad review sounds weird. Its 100% honest.
It's a solid game, with a well crafted story and well developed characters. Even though I'm not very familiar with Touhou, I was still able to enjoy it, and in a way, it sparked my curiosity to learn more about its universe. It's always nice to come across projects like this that clearly show a genuine passion for telling their own stories. P.S. Reimu needs a giant plush bow.
A really fun Touhou visual novel
I had a great time with Touhou: Beyond Gensokyo. Seeing Reimu trying to deal with the Outside World is a really fun idea, especially when she has to understand normal modern things that are completely unfamiliar to her. I also really liked the interactions between Reimu and Shin. Their personalities clash in a way that creates a lot of funny moments, but the story still manages to slowly build up a mystery in the background. The artwork is probably one of my favorite parts. The illustrations look great and help make a lot of the scenes feel more memorable. You can also tell that the person who made it actually knows and cares about Touhou. Reimu feels like Reimu, and the references to the lore do not feel forced or added just for fan service. There are a lot of small details that Touhou fans will probably notice and appreciate. I especially liked that the story focuses on Reimu spending time outside Gensokyo. It is not something I have seen that often in Touhou fan games, and it gives the story a different feeling while still keeping the humor, mystery and strange atmosphere that fit Touhou so well. It is a visual novel, so most of the game is reading, dialogue and character interactions, but I never found it boring. I still have not unlocked all the endings, so I am currently working on that. I am curious to see how much the choices actually change and what else I may have missed. Definitely recommended for Touhou fans, especially if you enjoy character-focused stories and Touhou lore. I’d really like to see a second part in the future, because I feel there is still a lot that could be explored with these characters and this premise.
From what I've played so far, I've liked it quite a bit. The art is very beautiful and the music is pleasant. I found the story captivating; I want to know who this mysterious character is and what they want. Seeing Reimu interact with our world is very funny and cute.
