This game sucks! I know it's a skill issue and I, apparently, don't have any, but why can't I, at least, have the option to shut John McEnroe up?! Every time I fail to hit a lob shot in training and his voice pops up for the hundredth time to remind me of how much I suck, I want to punch my computer. If I fail to a Dark Souls boss for the 20th time, a repetitive and annoying voice doesn't pop up to remind me to release the button in the green. If I'm going to fail over and over again then, at least, let me do it in silence. Frustrating! I love tennis, so I really wanted this to be good, but I guess it's just not for me.
Playing this garbage makes me miss Virtua Tennis horribly. And holy F!!!!!!!!! The leveling system in this game is brutal. Just release these games on mobile as a gacha. Why we paying for this BS?
wish i could give a "meh" review between yes and no played virtua tennis growing up and i was looking to scratch that itch for the longest time. topspin mechanics and gameplay is solid - didn't get too deep into it but it felt satisfying enough. as a long time nba2k player, hitting a "green" will always be satisfying, and it feels equally as rewarding here however. greedy monetization and an extremely grindy career mode make the game generally unfun. it takes soooo long for your player to even get decent, and this is in line with the general gameplay model with most sports games nowadays. with that being said, from a purely tennis standpoint, this game is fun, runs well, and is graphically very pretty. good enough, not the best but not the worst
After playing several hours into this games career mode, and having played previous TopSpin games, I can say that this one misses the mark quite a bit. First of all, the progression feels blatantly slowed down compared with previous games, and once you progress far enough with a coach to unlock their Gold traits, the game will find ever excuse to punish you for "poor" shot selection, even if the shot you were about to hit was out on the other person. I can see the path that they were trying to take to add "difficulty" to the game, but I feel that the game as a whole double faults on its service to the gaming community.

Bug au bout de 1 set plus aucun de nous 2 pouvons jouer nous sommes obligé de fermer le jeu
Game is actually decent, but there are 2 HUGE downfalls. 1- DO NOT PLAY DOUBLES. Doubles in this game is the worst gameplay you can ever experience in ANY videogame EVER (and I've played A LOT of games). Ball doesn't ever go where you aim it, always assumes the other net player, you can never volley properly, neither can your AI partner. It's infuriating and frustrating, makes you wanna break your monitor. This makes me ALWAYS want to skip Laver Cup. 2- Difficulty settings are ridiculous. It's either too easy and you beat Nº1 even if your player is below average, or you can't beat anyone.
