absolute trash. hasn't been touched since early access launch in september 2025 and it's beyond rudimentary and buggy. for starters, I spawned inside a wall, though I could still move. second time a wolf spawned 2 tiles from me and immediately started eating me (I wanted to find some enemies before giving up, got my wish). sometimes instead of an icon, the name of the current item is shown on the left, obviously not fitting the tiny space, looks bad and lazy. and there's no audio whatsoever. there's a game guide, both from the main and in-game menu, but it can't be scrolled, so not sure if there's more to it than a list of non-rebindable controls. tried arrows, wasd, mouse, mouse wheel, also turning and shaking the monitor a bit, nothing doing. difficulty settings aren't explained, character creation is only cosmetic, saving anytime is possible, so there's one positive at least (but see below). it also looks nice enough and there's an ai toggle to stop all the entities from moving. otherwise they do their own thing even when the menu is brought up, pausing is only possible with 'p' but you can still manage inventory and craft. and the menu is brought up every ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ time esc is pressed, it doesn't close any windows, only toggles that one. controls are also listed there, scrollable for once, plus there's zoom and languages, the former also possible with the mouse wheel. there's a minimap and it's mini indeed. must be a huge world, nothing wrong with that, but can't zoom in, so it's useless. can't bring up the whole thing either. the log is in a tiny window, shows the last couple of actions, scroll for the rest. you can type stuff there, not sure to what end, but even in typing mode the character moves around if wasd is pressed. smooth. double-click or drag adds something to your hand, no hotbar, so switching tools and weapons is a pain. there's an armor slot and a third one for something else. no tooltips in the entire ui but you can check what's what in the real world. yep, that's a tree. nope, I won't tell you why you're losing hp or how much hunger that item will restore, or indeed what that item is. the cursor also sees through that sham of a user interface and shows what's under it in the world as well. more random issues. can't reliably attack/mine tiles around you, gotta use the mouse. picking up items puts them in random slots in the inventory. some items don't have an icon, impossible to tell what they are. can't drop ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ items. crafting doesn't have a hotkey, only building, a lot less important function. crafting only offers bread and various woodstuff, no matter what I have in my inventory or if I'm standing on a workbench. might be the same issue the guide has with scrolling. and a bonus. I thought talking to npcs is bugged but nope, it's just the guide mentions the hotkey but the in-game menu doesn't. so after mining around a bit, I brought the guide up, found the hotkey, closed the guide, only to be presented with the main menu: game guide, new world, continue grayed out, multiplayer grayed out. why, pray tell, is continue grayed out? I could still see my world in the background, the cursor still told me there's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ tree there, esc kept toggling the in-game menu underneath but there was no way to continue playing. in case it wasn't blindingly obvious, manual saving anytime is good and it's on the player to make sure it's used frequently, but no autosaving whatsoever in a game like this is terrible, especially if the ui is such ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. text display during npc dialog is instant, the rest is bugged, further questions never get answered, only the top ones. and you might've noticed I never mentioned an exit button. well, that's because there isn't one. like most things, it has potential but it doesn't seem to be utilizing any of it. maybe in a few years, if it ever gets any updates, it will be something worth bothering with. I would like a hunger toggle, for instance, on top of all the issues above sorted out to make it at least somewhat playable.

It's... Really rough around the edges and with many bugs. While there are things that show promises, promises are empty until realized. The only thing it has going for it is that it's free right now, and I wouldn't spend time on this in its current state, given the numerous bugs and lack of content.
Игра сломана! нет русского языка, после паузы не закрывается всплывающее окно. Меню не работает- ужас.
Topcraft, ücretsiz, platformlar arası, tepeden tırnağa bir hayatta kalma oyunudur. Prosedürel dünyaları keşfedin, madencilik yapın ve ekipman üretin, rahat üsler inşa edin ve düzenekler kurun. Gezinen yaratıklarla savaşın, zindanları temizleyin ve toprakları şekillendirin; kendi küçük bloklu sınırınız, kendi kurallarınız.
Has potential but unplayable. The worst thing is if you open the guide you cannot close it without resetting your world.
The game definitely has potential, but I encounter many glitches. It would be great if you added a feedback option in the game, so players can easily report the bugs we find and share ideas. Also, fix the workbench it doesn’t work and won’t let me place it.
not very good yet
TopCraft is a game that immediately reminded me of the classic sandbox survival games I enjoy, but I liked how it puts everything into a simple top down perspective. I start with almost nothing and gradually turn a procedurally generated world into a place where I can actually survive. I enjoyed that sense of starting small and slowly building up because there is always another resource to collect or another part of the world to explore. The core gameplay revolves around gathering materials, crafting tools and building a base. I liked how quickly the basic loop starts working because chopping trees, mining resources and turning them into useful equipment gives me a constant reason to keep moving. Farming also gives the world a more peaceful side, while building lets me decide whether I want something practical or something that feels more like a proper little settlement. Exploration is another strong part of the experience. Every world is procedurally generated, so I never know exactly what I am going to find when I head away from my base. Forests, caves and dungeons all give me different reasons to explore, and there are plenty of creatures to deal with along the way. I enjoyed that mix of quiet gathering and sudden danger because it stops the game from becoming completely predictable. The building and automation systems are where I think TopCraft becomes more interesting. I can reshape the land one tile at a time and set up wiring and contraptions to make parts of my base more useful. I like when a survival game gives me room to create my own solutions instead of simply following a fixed progression path. The blocky visual style also works well here because everything feels clear and easy to understand. My biggest issue is that the game still feels very much like a work in progress. Some systems are rough around the edges, and the overall presentation lacks the level of polish I would expect from a finished sandbox game. The progression can also feel a little unfocused at times because there are so many different things I can work toward without a strong sense of direction. I also think the combat could be developed further. Fighting zombies, spiders and wildlife gives exploration some danger, but the enemies do not always feel as interesting as the building and survival systems. The planned multiplayer side could also make a huge difference because this type of sandbox becomes much more exciting when I can share a world and build alongside other people. Overall, TopCraft is a promising free sandbox survival game with a nice combination of exploration, crafting, building and automation. I enjoyed shaping the world, setting up my base and gradually turning a procedurally generated wilderness into something that felt like my own. It still needs more polish and deeper combat, but there is a solid foundation here, and I think it could become a much better experience as development continues. Rating: 6.3/10
