It's really pretty and fun. I am quite sensitive, so I found audio and visuals overwhelming sometimes - but not enough not to recommend it!

TOHU is a beautifully illustrated point-and-click adventure that places imagination, environmental storytelling, and puzzle solving at the center of the experience. Developed and published by Fireart Games, it follows a young girl living within an extraordinary universe composed of enormous fish planets. Her peaceful existence is disrupted when a mysterious figure damages the Sacred Engine, an important mechanism connected to the survival of her world. Accompanied by her mechanical alter ego, Cubus, she travels through a collection of increasingly strange locations in search of answers and a way to repair what has been broken. The game's strongest quality is undoubtedly its artistic direction. Its environments resemble elaborate hand-painted illustrations filled with tiny mechanical details, unusual vegetation, bizarre architecture, and eccentric creatures. Practically every location contains something interesting to examine, and the backgrounds often communicate as much personality as the characters themselves. The concept of civilizations existing on fish-shaped planets gives the artists enormous creative freedom, resulting in environments where machines and organic life coexist naturally. There is a pleasant storybook quality throughout the adventure, although occasional darker imagery prevents the world from becoming excessively cheerful. Gameplay follows familiar point-and-click conventions. Players investigate environments, collect useful objects, interact with strange inhabitants, operate machinery, and solve puzzles to progress. Rather than relying heavily on complicated conversations or enormous inventories, TOHU frequently presents environmental and mechanical challenges. Many puzzles involve determining how an unusual device functions, locating missing components, recognizing patterns, or manipulating several objects in the correct sequence. The puzzles generally complement the strange world instead of feeling disconnected from it. A particularly enjoyable mechanic is the protagonist's ability to transform into Cubus. The Girl and her mechanical counterpart possess different physical capabilities, creating situations where players must determine which form is appropriate. The Girl can handle circumstances requiring her smaller and more agile body, while Cubus possesses the strength necessary to move heavy objects and perform physically demanding actions. The transformation mechanic is straightforward, but it prevents puzzle solving from becoming entirely dependent on inventory combinations and provides the central character with a distinctive gameplay identity. The puzzles frequently embrace the game's eccentric sense of humor. Players encounter unconventional machines, strange creatures, unusual transportation systems, and mechanisms whose operation follows the peculiar logic of this universe. Some challenges are immediately understandable, while others require closer observation and experimentation. The solutions usually remain reasonably logical once the underlying concept becomes apparent, although certain scenes can make identifying interactive elements difficult because the backgrounds contain so much visual detail. A hint system helps prevent players from becoming permanently stuck and makes the adventure approachable for people who do not regularly play point-and-click games. Exploration is also encouraged through collectible creatures hidden within the environments. Finding these critters is optional, but their presence rewards players who carefully inspect every corner rather than immediately pursuing the main objective. This works particularly well because the environments are already enjoyable to study. Instead of making exploration feel like a checklist, the collectibles provide an additional reason to appreciate the small details scattered throughout each scene. The presentation is strengthened considerably by its soundtrack. Christopher Larkin's music fits the surreal and occasionally mysterious atmosphere exceptionally well, shifting between gentle wonder and more dramatic moods without overwhelming the visual experience. Sound effects also give the numerous machines and creatures additional personality. Combined with the hand-drawn artwork, the audio creates an atmosphere that can feel peaceful, peculiar, mysterious, and humorous within the same journey. Storytelling remains relatively restrained. The mystery surrounding the damaged Sacred Engine gives the protagonists a clear purpose, while gradually discovering more about the Girl and Cubus provides enough narrative momentum to connect the different locations. However, the story is not built around extensive dialogue or lengthy exposition. Much of the appeal comes from observing the world itself. Players expecting a dialogue-heavy adventure with deeply complicated character relationships may therefore find the narrative comparatively simple, but the lighter storytelling prevents it from interfering with the steady sequence of puzzles. The game's relatively relaxed pacing is another strength, although it will depend heavily on personal preference. There is little pressure to rush through environments, allowing players to study clues and appreciate the artwork at their own speed. This makes TOHU especially suitable for players looking for something calmer between more demanding games. Conversely, anyone seeking action, combat, elaborate progression systems, or significant mechanical freedom will find little of that here. It remains firmly committed to traditional adventure-game exploration and puzzle solving. Steam Deck compatibility is excellent because TOHU is Steam Deck Verified. The adventure's slower pace and point-and-click structure translate comfortably to handheld play, making it convenient for shorter portable sessions. Its intricate backgrounds naturally benefit from a larger screen where small artistic details are easier to appreciate, but the overall experience remains well suited to Valve's handheld without the compromises commonly associated with unsupported PC games. There are areas where the game could have gone further. The Girl and Cubus transformation mechanic has considerable potential but is not always explored with the complexity it could have supported. Some interactions depend more on searching detailed environments than deduction, and players experienced with adventure games may solve portions of the journey rather quickly. The fascinating universe also feels capable of supporting considerably more lore and narrative development than the story ultimately provides. Even with these limitations, TOHU is an appealing example of how strong artistic identity can elevate a familiar genre structure. Its combination of hand-crafted environments, surreal machinery, charming characters, imaginative puzzles, hidden collectibles, gentle humor, and atmospheric music creates an adventure that feels distinctive without abandoning traditional point-and-click fundamentals. The journey is particularly easy to recommend to players who value beautiful environmental design and thoughtful puzzles over action or mechanical complexity. It may not revolutionize the genre, but its wonderfully peculiar universe makes exploring each new fish planet consistently rewarding. Rating: 8/10
Belle DA mais on ce fait chiez bordel et l'autre fdp avec sa lumiere qui si il te spot tu doit recommencer aller mettez moi ce jeu a la poubelle putain
I found this game rather tedious. While the art is cute and well done, I found it difficult to follow, often requiring a guide to even understand what needed to be done or what was expected.
