Time Space Rebuild is an ambitious, genre-blending narrative game developed and published by INNOVATION DREAM that sets out to combine science fiction, romance, interactive storytelling, and light RPG mechanics into a single sweeping experience. From the very beginning, the game signals its lofty intentions: you are placed into a collapsing timeline where humanity’s future hangs in the balance, and your actions across multiple eras will determine not only the fate of the world, but also the emotional bonds you form with the people caught in that chaos. Rather than presenting itself as a traditional visual novel or a pure role-playing game, Time Space Rebuild exists somewhere in between, aiming to deliver cinematic storytelling while still giving the player agency through exploration, combat decisions, and branching narrative paths. The narrative structure is the game’s central pillar and its most defining feature. Time travel is not simply a backdrop here, but a mechanical and thematic driver that shapes nearly every aspect of progression. Players are frequently asked to make decisions that ripple across timelines, affecting character relationships, political outcomes, and the stability of reality itself. These choices are rarely framed as simple good-or-evil decisions; instead, they often force compromises, prioritizing one life or relationship at the expense of another. This gives the story a persistent sense of tension, as even seemingly minor dialogue options can later echo into major consequences. The promise of numerous branching paths and a vast number of possible endings reinforces the idea that each playthrough is only one version of a much larger narrative web. Character writing plays a crucial role in anchoring this high-concept premise. The cast is diverse, with each companion carrying personal motivations, emotional baggage, and their own views on the unfolding crisis. Romantic elements are woven naturally into the story rather than presented as detached side routes, making relationships feel integrated into the broader stakes of the plot. How closely you bond with certain characters can unlock unique scenes, alter story trajectories, or even change how key events resolve. While some character arcs are more immediately compelling than others, the overall effort to give each individual narrative weight helps prevent the story from feeling like a purely abstract science-fiction exercise. Gameplay systems attempt to complement this narrative focus rather than overshadow it. Exploration segments allow players to move through different locations and eras, collecting resources, uncovering lore, and triggering optional interactions that deepen world-building. Combat and RPG elements are present but deliberately lightweight, functioning more as pacing tools than as complex systems demanding mastery. These sections break up long stretches of dialogue and decision-making, keeping the experience from becoming overly static. However, players expecting deep tactical combat or extensive character builds may find these mechanics serviceable rather than standout, as their primary role is to support the story rather than define the experience. Visually, Time Space Rebuild makes a strong impression. Character designs are detailed and expressive, helping convey emotion during key story moments, while environments shift dramatically across timelines, reinforcing the scale and instability of the world you are trying to save. The presentation leans toward a cinematic feel, with polished artwork and animated scenes that elevate important narrative beats. This visual strength often carries emotional moments even when pacing slows, making it easier to stay invested during exposition-heavy sections. The soundtrack and sound design further enhance immersion, underscoring dramatic reveals and quieter character moments alike. Despite its strengths, the game’s ambition occasionally works against it. The scope of the story and the sheer number of branching paths can lead to uneven pacing, with some narrative threads feeling underdeveloped or abruptly paused. At times, the game gives the impression of being part of a much larger saga, leaving certain mysteries unresolved or only partially explored. For players who value narrative completeness, this can be frustrating, while others may appreciate the sense of an evolving universe that leaves room for interpretation or future expansion. Technical polish and localization quality can also fluctuate, sometimes breaking immersion during critical moments. Community reception reflects this duality. Many players praise Time Space Rebuild for its bold storytelling, emotional ambition, and the genuine sense of agency it provides, particularly for fans of choice-driven narratives and romance-focused sci-fi. Others express reservations about its unfinished feeling or question whether its current content fully matches its grand promises. Still, even critical voices tend to acknowledge the game’s unique identity and the passion behind its design, recognizing it as a project striving for something larger than conventional genre boundaries. In the end, Time Space Rebuild is best understood as a high-concept narrative experiment rather than a tightly focused mechanical experience. Its greatest successes lie in its willingness to tackle large ideas—time, fate, love, and sacrifice—while giving players meaningful control over how those ideas play out. While it may stumble in execution and consistency, its ambition and emotional reach make it a memorable journey for players drawn to story-driven games that value choice and consequence above all else. For those willing to engage with its complexity and accept its rough edges, Time Space Rebuild offers a thought-provoking and often emotionally resonant adventure that lingers long after the final choice is made.
The writing is actually horrible. I wanted to turn off the game every single second. Every scene is a sudden jump cut to a new area with new people and I have completely lost track of the plot. The plot is actual dribble with little substance. Everything is told to you rather than shown. At time of this review, the title is not feature complete with only 1/3 of the chapters available for you to play. I doubt this game will receive any further updates. Every scene with Ivy made me incredibly uncomfortable with me questioning the characters age as it is heavily implied she is young. Thank God's I look at the detailed character information to learn Ivy is eighteen. Even with the knowledge of Ivy's age, the scenes were incredibly uncomfortable with how the character behaved, almost childish. While Time Space Rebuild is a horrible title for anyone who enjoys FMV titles, this game was a straight joy to stream on Discord with my friends to play as we make fun of the dialogue, the writing, and everything else we could find. I do recommend the title for all those who want a solid laugh.
This used to be priced at $17, and then several months later it dropped to $5, and I bought it on sale for $2.5. Incomplete story? well, yeah, but enough for the money's worth IMO. Even if they never finish it, the story is coherent enough that I won't regret it. Others have already left a detailed enough review of all the negatives (maybe a bit harshly due to the price at the time) but for $5 you get 3.5 chapters with 5 girls in either terrible English audio or dubbed Chinese audio, besides the one Japanese fantasy girl. My biggest complaint? Why couldn't all the speakers just speak their native language since you're going to play with subtitles anyway? Besides that, it could be worse - for examples see "mystery crown" or "Mountain and Sea Studio" games.
