This game really needed more time to cook and probably even more playtesting on top of that. It has potential from how it's set up, but it's a mess of technical issues which really barred me from even playing the game. The game's graphics settings is pretty standard, but the worst part of it is the fact that the game doesn't actually save anything you actually change in the menu. It appears to change when you're in the title menus, but once you get into the game itself it goes to the default settings and acts as if you never changed anything. It has gamepad support, but half of the time it doesn't work and will force you to use your mouse which in turn will sometimes make you not able to use your gamepad again until you restart the game from the main menu. The bindings for the gamepad also seem to be massively broken, as the buttons you press do not do the action that it says it does in the menu, and I even remapped the buttons to see if it fixed anything but it felt like it removed me ability to even punch with my fists? Before remapping melee defaulted to the left stick button for some reason but after I set it to RB/RT, it just seems I lost my ability to even melee attack. In terms of other things I've noticed in the little time I've played the game, all the NPCs I've met say the same thing of "Want to gamba?", and in one of the stores there's an item in there several different times with a broken description that just has lines of code in its description, I know I went into this with lower expectations because of how everything about it seemed too good to be true and with how suspicious a lot of it seemed, but it greatly disappoints me how I can't even play the game long enough to even see if the things in the trailer and this store page are even true to begin with. I can deal with this being a meme of a game if they at least polished out the technical issues so it can be playable, Update: I've managed to play a bit more, and I'm starting to notice that certain mechanics for the game just don't seem to work or require you to interact with something but there's no indication of that. Restoring my keybinds to default also didn't fix my controls, as I still cannot attack when I press the keys that are bound to attack. I'll update this if these issues get fixed so I can actually give the game a review based on the content in it.
This is one of the strangest games I've ever played. The world map is truly amazing - sensory overload of textures, shaders, VFX, and animations. It has a truly unique visual style, and dozens of complex interlocking systems. It's also barely playable. If the dev is reading this, first thank you, and secondly please fix the bug that puts me inside of the giant woman when I die. I have to hard quit the game each time.
