A small, unassuming time-travel puzzle adventure game. It's not a grand sci-fi epic, but more like an old pocket watch, tiny, worn, a little strange, and oddly easy to grow attached to.
The music was the best part, and the family dynamics were cute, but it was really frustrating going from room to room just hoping something would happen, had to end up looking up a guide to even know what I was supposed to do. Finished? Yes Steam Achievements? None. Steam Deck? Never tried. Rating? 4/10 My curator page: https://store.steampowered.com/curator/45865425-CozyAriGames/ Full videos on Youtube.
As a side-scroller adventure game, Tick Tock Isle does a decent job at displaying the time-travel features in the realm of video games. The quests are linear, with various NPCs and items you can collect. It displays a Metroidvania-style gameplay, with 2D bright visuals that are smooth and eye-pleasing. NPC dialogue boxes, and slightly animated NPCs helps highlight who and what can be interacted in the game. You have the Inventory and map layout, with a journal that gets updated as you progress in the game. I enjoyed exploring the island, and discovering the new maps and layouts as I played further into the story and world. The pixel art was also top-notch. The audio and BGM added to the environment I was in. It's worth trying out Tick Tock Isle!

I found the game extremely confusing and I honestly don't understand how people like it. I did nothing but constantly get lost because the house you are in has way too many doors. It also has no settings menu and doesn't seem to work 100% right either.

Tick Tock Isle is a bite-sized adventure game that pays homage to the point-and-click adventures of old but trims absolutely all the fat and leaves you with a condensed and charming experience. The game has an inventory, a map, and several screens of the titular island and the house on it, but the game only has four buttons, and three of them are directional movement keys. In short, the game streamlines all interactions and inventory fiddling by handing out items for you and using them in the environment when appropriate. The result is a roughly 1 hour long game (a bit less if you have great sense of direction and a bit of luck) peppered with classic nonsensical item and NPC combinations you used to have in SCUMM games and a neat little ending that ties everything together... or does it? Some find the straightforward interface limiting and grating, but I found it brilliant; go into this game with without expecting more than what it has on offer and I think you won't be disappointed. Tick Tock Isle hides a surprising amount of creativity and attention to detail wrapped in a little time-traveling package. And it's got a couple of poems in there too! For the price tag, it's an absolute steal and a great way to try something different.
Love the art style but most of the gameplay so far I've noticed is just going from room to room-why are they so many interconnected?-and getting lost.
