Throne & Liberty has a lot of potential, but the PvP balance is rough. The Ravager meta dominates almost every mode, and any class that threatens it gets nerfed. People say “Ravager is only good in small‑scale,” but small‑scale PvP makes up the majority of the actual PvP you end up playing. It’s hard to enjoy competitive modes when one class consistently sits on top. The P2W elements don’t help either. They’re not subtle, and they affect progression in ways that make the game feel more like a monetization treadmill than an MMO. Then there’s the Nix box grind. The world is gorgeous, but you spend most of your time stuck farming Nix instead of actually experiencing the zones the team worked so hard to build. It’s repetitive, it’s mandatory, and it kills the sense of adventure. I genuinely hope the developers take lessons from this and do better with Aion 2, because the foundation here could have been great. If I could ask for one major change: equalize gear in PvP battlegrounds and let players farm honor coins freely. It would make PvP fair, fun, and actually worth queuing for. I doubt it’ll happen, but that’s the direction the game desperately needs.

As someone who plays with my spouse and a veteran of GW2, It's a good MMORPG if you have stable RL partner to play with AND if you don't care about PvP. For us, it has more content suitable for 2-3 players (unlike GW2 where we need to constantly LFG for fractal or raids), more vertical growth. It especially has more potential given its AI generated contents and fast update speed.
Trust me. Having the freedom to play whatever you want is so much nicer than trying to stay relevant in a dying game.
First off, if you were considering trying the game due to the new update i would recommend it. This game can be so fun and i really do enjoy my time spent overall. Now, Why the heck do we have an extraction game mode (the genre that can NOT hold a playerbase) in an mmo? no clue. This update itself isnt bad. The content is fine. How we do the content, and the rewards we get (or dont get mostly) is terrible. The cost to upgrade anything in this update is beyond insane. Anyone who starts the game now wont even be able to make decent gear in the first year they play the game due to this update. Most likely the rest of the story will unfold like this, NC slowly makes upgrading easier over the course of 2-5 months since anyone who will spend to hit 80 will have done so by then. While constantly saying "we're listening". Edit: It's hard to be optimistic about a game where the devs obviously dont care enough to think for 30 seconds about the systems they implement into the game.
4 big NO's ! 1. Lazy "Artificial" Difficulty 2. Broken Solo Content 3. Buggy Software & "Ghost" Inputs 4. The Legacy "Refund" Scam - If you are a returning veteran, expect a complete slap in the face. The game executed a hard wipe on legacy progression. Over 17 of my fully-traited, maxed-out items from the early days were essentially vaporized into "fragments". Instead of giving back equivalent upgrade blocks, they handed back currency crumbs that barely cover baseline entry taxes for the new levels. Your past achievements are deleted to force you back into the monetization loop. So.. Throne and Liberty is bleeding its population for a reason. Moving goalposts halfway up a mountain by shifting rune caps to Level 120 while delivering bugged combat and lazy health-sponge bosses is an abusive loop. It is a game designed strictly for people with unlimited time and zero boundary respect. Unless you want a second job that pays you in digital crumbs, do yourself a favor: appreciate the graphics for five minutes, and then hit uninstall!
It's like the devs are actually looking for ways to make the players quit with each update. The layers of RNG stacked against the player are honestly absurd.
So much potential ruined by greed and lack of interesting PVE content. I'm too poor to be able to fully enjoy this game.
geil, aber in einem tag schon lvl 51 ist für meinen Geschmack schon etwas zu schnell.
One of the better games of the genre, well personally think its the best after black desert with the major difference being combat style. Black desert had hack and slash type style combat where this game is built on classic game style like lineage. I couldn't get into black desert even though it was quite similar and possibly better in some aspects like marketplace and economy. What I like about this game: -No super edgy content. From mob design being modest and down to earth, to characters and races. - Live events are constant, meaning you are not forced to be online to not miss the event - Quality quests that make sense or atleast explained why you run back and forth few times - Story is actually good, if you care not to skip through it - Most quests are voiced, by most I mean there are still few that are missing but its a lot better than any other mmo I tried - Great world design, a lot of work was put into it. - You can play 2 classes with 1 character, you have 2 wepon choices - Lots of customization for class skillls, class level skills, wepon skills and extra traits on top of your classic weapon and armor stats. Some things that not necessarily a bad just different: - Marketplace is locked to only high grade items, meaning you cannot sell anything that is not market graded. Crafting items has low chance of being high grade. Similarly with dropped items. Meaning marketplace is off limits for majority of the game. Not a bad thing, just makes the game feel more of a co-op or single player regardless of world being populated. - You need to know a lot to pvp, need to have most of your abilities maxed out correctly because everybody else feels like use optimal settings. Hard to find low skill players like yourself. Gear is standardized I believe once entering the pvp zone, so its mostly skill knowledge I believe. - Marketplace does not allow listing of premium items, meaning most sales are done via shop. Shop has rotating mechanic rather than being list based. You can sell basic items for premium currency, but you can only buy premium items from shop for the company base price. Would only guess to combat botting and or account sales. Optimization could be a little better. You get wide fps swings for no reason seemingly and small stutters. I am running on 8+ year old mid-high tier system.
