The Witness

This game is for sickos by a sicko. The most derranged and psychotic puzzle game I've ever played. I genuinely think you can make a compelling case for this being a psychological horror game. I've been playing this game since it came out on PS4 and I only now got it for Steam and playing it again has revealed to me just how unhinged it is. It seems peaceful, a bit eerie, but the deeper down the rabbit hole you go the more you'll feel like you're going insane playing it. All this to say this is not a game for everyone. Lots of people really hate this game for understandable reasons. If you're the right flavor of sicko, however, I would highly recommend it. It's been my favorite puzzle game ever since I first played it and that hasn't changed.

I love the game but there HAS to be an accessibility option for the [spoiler] sound-based [/spoiler] puzzles. Surely there is some way to do it with subtitles!

Definitely would recommend at discounted price, I really enjoy the game, but the full ~35 euro feels a little too much for a puzzle game, especially when it's a hit or miss for some people. Other comments: 1. Has a really slow pacing which might annoy someone, though I'm sure there have to be some mods out there that "fix" it. 2. Sometimes the layout is just stupid, considering you have no jumping ability, but that goes handinhand with the pacing. 3. Knowing the bare minimum of what to expect has been positive for me, since I hadn't been miserably stuck yet, however I advise avoiding spoilers for the specific mechanics, since your understanding of them is what usually blocks the progression. 4. Beautiful environments, it's really cozy. Similar vibe to some Annapurna releases. 5. I do like that you have no start up menu, only the pause one, which further contributes to the immersion. 6. I bet solving the side environmental puzzles will be a nightmare, but I haven't gotten there yet.
