Well.. it's free, so ty for the effort. Couldn't play it all the way because i have no sound in it.
I liked the game. Very short and sweet to the point. Had a good little jump scare in there, and after fixing the vsync and graphics the game looked amazing.
Well, that was terrible. I'm a huge fan of horror walking sims, and with a price of free-ninety-nine I couldn't resist giving this one a download. I knew going into it that this game was short (twenty minutes or less), but I'd really like my twenty minutes back now. The premise is solid enough: an abandoned town haunted by a creepy ghost and you're tasked with finding all of the diary entries to put the real story together. Unfortunately, the diary entries are sparse and the spooky ghost has all of three haunt animations that repeat alongside flickering lights. The end is a complete cop out and the only achievement is bugged, so you don't even have a shiny badge to show off for putting up with this "game". Keep your twenty minutes to yourself and give this one a skip.
Warning: Asset Flip! "The Vanishing" is one of literally thousands of creatively bankrupt asset flips infesting Steam and lowering the average quality of all video games everywhere.
This is yet another collection of Unreal Marketplace assets dumped on a first person adventure game blueprint, badly. This happens a lot on Steam, there's literally hundreds of these amateur asset flips, some malicious (I don't think this one is), but they're all bad. This is a schizophrenic collection of assets where you walk through various spooky town/abandoned mine assets (I'm kind of tired of seeing the mineshaft asset pack all the time, it's like Groundhog Day with these asset flippers). There was an attempt to shove in some puzzles using the game blueprint, but none of the assets are used well, it's an ugly Frankenstein's Monster of a flip. So, "The Vanishing" is partially or completely made up of stock assets, "borrowed" from asset stores and free asset websites. Little, if anything in this game is the creation of the "developer". While there's no up front price for this asset flip, the other problem with asset flips is that when developers aren't capable of doing their job and creating high quality assets, it's also true they can't do any of the rest of the job of a game developer either. That's definitely true for "The Vanishing", and this kind of asset flipping never results in games that have quality or value for PC gamers. Now on to pricing and value for gamers. This is "free" enough (not every "free" game in the "free" section is truly free, there's usually some hidden price tag), at least you won't be expected to spend any more money after you download this, but just because something is free doesn't mean it's good, and the cost of a game is more than just financial, your time is valuable too. In terms of public reception, this failed. There's over 130 million unique gamers visiting Steam every month. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 5 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Given that this free title won't increase your game collector count, is it worth your time to add it to your library? This is a "nope". While it won't necessarily cost you money, the time and hard drive space it requires could be better invested in one of the many higher-quality alternatives on Steam.
Ludzie giną, a część z nich uciekła.
hmmmmm I made short cut straight to day 40 but I haven't uncover the truth or mystery or actually escaped hmmmmmmmm
Very short game. Find the glowing notes, read them as it points you to the next one, enter mine, collect a key, open door, die. Atmospheric with just a torch for lighting, ambience adds to the fear factor. On a side note, you cannot collect the notes, just read them. I did find one body with a clue, and one clue that was an actual picture of a little girl (more like an anime picture). Not sure what its for. Unfortunately, even reading all the notes that I found and going to the mine and then dying at the very end, you can just run straight there with the same ending. Will try again to see if there is something I missed, but given the clues, I doubt it. Giving it a thumbs up though, especially for the ambient feeling of the game.
Really bad short game, achievement doesn't even unlock.
Interesting.
Why did the scary game get such low ratings? It left everyone feeling haunted by disappointment! 🥴
