Another test, another reflection. Again I was very intrigued by the results: My Cards: The Tuner The River Beyond The Long Road The Shared Field The Mirror Town What truly spoke to me here were The Long Road and The Mirror Town. It reflected on my life and my believes and gave me an idea what maybe to change in my life.
I really enjoy The Test series, and couldn't resist giving this a go! I do miss how I could simply choose when to move on (instead of have the narrator talk with the text scrolling upwards), but at least the narrator had a cool sounding voice! The cards I drew: The Keyed Voice The Native Work The Threadkeeper The Shared Field The Full Table Out of those cards I liked "The Shared Field" most. Really can't wait for the future games, I really love personality games(?) like these, and honestly the past ones (and this one) really do seem to hit home quite well!
I discovered this studio and their games from the one Markiplier video back in the day. It's basically a personality test with some voice acting, but The messages are often very hopeful and positive. I can't say that it's enlightened anything within me personally but I did get emotional for this one just hearing everything being read to me. Which, hey, sometimes you just need to be reminded about personal things. I played pretty much every single game that they offer and they've all been unique and fun in their own way. It's definitely a refreshed version of the original game that they posted a couple years ago. And it's worth between 30-45 minutes of play-through to learn a little bit about yourself or be reminded about yourself. The one thing I will say is I think the price is a little high for essentially a personality test but if you find this one on sale or want to try their other games, I think it's worth picking up for at least an hour of fun or intrigue. The card that resonated the most with me was the Mirror Town. I'm not going to say any more than that to avoid spoilers. 8/10 my inner child needed to hear what was told to me. Took 2 points off for the price, I think $5-6 would be more appropriate. Not to take away from their hard work and everything, I just think $10 is a bit much for what they offer. 100% definitely pick it up on sale and try their other games, which are much more reasonable in price.
The cards I got were: The Keyed Voice, The River Beyond, The Threadkeeper, The Lantern, and The Level Ground. I had a hard time picking a favorite card, I was mostly stuck between The River Beyond and The Threadkeeper cards. How does one pick between destruction and creation, growth and rot, all beginnings have ends and all ends bring about new beginnings. The River Beyond in the end has swept me away. Card: The River Beyond Also loved the voice acting ✺◟(♥ ε ♥)◞✺
My cards were "The Keyed voice" "the river beyond" "the long walk" "the full table" with "The Shared Field" being the one that hit me the most. I've played several of this developer's games now, about 3 I think, and they always feel like a mirror covered with a sheet that I desperately want to uncover and look into even though I already know what I'll see. Yet I always get hit with some amazing words of truth that just stick in me, and yeah, sometimes I cry a little. Although I enjoyed it, and I LIKE that there's voice acting, it felt a little slow and unnecessary at times. Great job to the voice actor. I do like how, even though the voice and backgrounds felt scary and ominous, it was gentle and helpful, like a scary monster that's actually trying to help you.
This is not a game, it is an experience. If it found you, It's not by happenstance. It's for a reason. Play it. Experience it. Take the dive into your own psyche and gain insight into your deepest truths. Let he truth will set you free. The North Arrow - The Lantern - The Native Work - The Long Walk - The Wakeful Self
The card that actually got to me was this Sunseed. T'was super cool! The game itself is amazing, the questions were interesting, and they gave me a lot to think about but... uhhh... The beginning, the cards description and the ending... they were long. Super long. I've actually lost interest and stopped listening. Only partially. I ain't a person who can focus for so long. But that's just me. Not the game.
The cards that resonated with me the most was the Keyed voice and The shared field and The mirror town I had slight trouble with keeping up with the what the other cards meant but got the gist of them..just felt like the text was moving slightly too slow for me to actually keep my attention span 1st card:The keyed Voice 2nd card: The maker of meaning 3rd card: The Long walk 4th card: The shared field 5th Card: The mirror town
My cards were: Clear Eye The River Beyond The Thread Keeper The Open Sky The Level Ground As always, enjoyed this and had a fun experience! Thank you guys!
Another great one from Randumb Studios! The results knew me perfectly. If you do not always know who you are, what you feel, or why you do what you do, this can help you understand yourself better. If you know yourself well, but have trouble putting things into words, this can help you do that. If you know AND express yourself well, this can help you feel seen. If nothing else, it will give you some fun! The only thing I would change is the speed of the voice. For many people, this slow speech will help them truly process and feel the words to their core. For people like me, who have ADHD and/or a sleep disorder, it makes it difficult to stay focused. Having the ability to change the speed would be very helpful. Overall, great "game," as I've come to expect from Randumb!
