Edited to a no review, for the following reasons: Game was Abandoned in 2023 at Beta 0.7 they started working on the Swarm 2. Swarm 2 demo is currently 8-17-25 unplayable. the play times on the reviews for this game should give you an indication that this is a BAD BAD game. literally the ONLY thing going for this game is that it is FREE. and the sequel will not be. so.... (also, i cant review the Demo of Swarm 2, so congrats, its a NO as well) please attempt to play the demo for (Swarm 2)before committing to the game. Lets go over the Positives. #1 its free. #2 .... be wary of a game that the average review play time is like maybe 1 hour. But hey, its free right? The game appears to have been abandoned in 2023 at Beta 0.7 ish, yet they took time to advertise that there is a Swarm 2. hmm.. couldn't even finish the first one huh?

Well met, weary traveler, as we embark upon the realm of Steam reviews, where wisdom and whimsy intertwine like the strands of a chaotic potion. But fret not, for I bring forth not just a review, but a prophecy of the future, a glimpse into the alternate dimension where games are played with spoons and controllers are but relics of the past. The Steam Reviewer's Guide to Surviving the Apocalypse: Step 1: Preparation Gather thy provisions: a trusty keyboard, a mouse with a steady click, and a screen that reflects the depths of your soul. For in the digital wasteland, these shall be your faithful companions, steadfast in the face of crashing servers and endless loading screens. Step 2: Navigation Navigate through the desolate landscape of Early Access titles and abandoned forums. Beware the trolls and the false prophets, for they lurk in the shadows like loot-hungry goblins, ready to snatch your sanity at every turn. Keep a wary eye out for the lurking bots and the cheaters, those foul creatures that pollute the purity of our gaming realm. Step 3: Adaptation Adapt to the ever-changing world of patches and updates. Embrace the glitches, for they are but quirks in the grand tapestry of gaming. Like a skilled alchemist, turn these mishaps into moments of triumph, for victory tastes sweeter when earned through adversity. Step 4: Collaboration Forge alliances with fellow survivors, for in unity lies strength. Together, we shall weather the storm of microtransactions and loot boxes, standing tall against the tide of pay-to-win villains like noble knights in a digital crusade. Step 5: Celebration Celebrate the victories, no matter how small, with the gusto of a bard recounting tales of old. For in the darkest of dungeons, even a single achievement shines like a legendary artifact, a testament to your courage and tenacity. And thus, dear reader, I bestow upon thee this humble offering, a guide to navigate the treacherous waters of Steam and emerge victorious on the other side. May your framerates be high and your loading times short. Until we meet again, keep gaming on, fellow travelers. Keep gaming on.
This is really fancy, and quite fun ^^
*first impression* -After first few runs trying it skipping the tutorial, armed with nothing but my own wits, and 40+ years of gaming experience, I was quick to learn that neither were going to do me a lick of good here! -So throwing my pride to the side, I did what I should’ve just done from the start, I went through the brief tutorial. -when starting a game you’re not familiar with, it’s always the wise choice to go through the tutorial whenever available, because you just don’t know what the developers have in store for you. -Now armed with the knowledge of how this game works, and how you’re supposed to approach the enemies, things will at least go a bit more smoothly, right? -NOPE! I just kept dying over and over again. -Even with about 5-6 more visits to the tutorial thinking I must’ve missed something important, I still kept coming up short, and my runs didn’t seem to get all that much better. -I noticed that when you go around collecting “swarms” which are the “bullets” of your main weapon, that once you use them and the make contact with an enemy… they’re gone! -this is frustrating because there aren’t a whole lot of swarm areas to collect bullets, and they go so quickly as you fire them, but the enemies don’t seem to have a gauge to let you know if they’re being damaged or not, plus they quickly multiply and surround you which makes it that much more difficult to collect a decent amount of them . -When I tried to avoid the enemies and just gather resources, they’d fire at me and kill half of them without me firing a shot (that seems unfair, and at the very least should be changed to a much lower percent of lost bullets) -Of what little I did play so far, and frustration aside, I can tell there’s a very good game in here, but either I need to figure out how to properly play it, or it needs some major tweaks to make it more accessible! -I can’t give it a thumbs down because I just haven’t played enough of it to condemn it with a clear conscience. Besides, it’s free, so nobody loses anything except time and HD space if they download it. I also think I’m going to eventually get it, and love it, so I’d hate to worry about if someone passed on it because I didn’t know what I was doing. So yeah, it’s still getting a recommendation here.
