Unfortunately, the game crashes every 2 minutes while playing on Windows. Couldn't even see the end scenes of the game. Please fix this bug asap.
This is a short click and point game. It does have a small story. It does have a few puzzles as well. The book shelf puzzle made no since to me. I did have a problem where the game would not load the new area of the house. I had to get out of the game and come back into the game at least eight times. I give this game a 6.5/10
I really loved this game! I was looking for a fun point&click game and the Spirits of Kelleys Family really delivered. I especially appreciated the drawing style which really goes well with the mysterious and fun aspects of the story. The game seems to find the right balance and results challenging to finish, while not being excessively difficult. I can totally recommend it to anybody interested in points&click games, this one will keep you entertained for several hours.
I was happy to have finally found this game after playing it on Newgrounds many years ago. I vaguely remembered playing it but could not recall the title. After many unsuccessful attempts at typing keywords into search engines based on things I remembered from the game, I was finally able to locate it. (ApparentIy, it's not on newgrounds anymore; no wonder it was so difficult to find.) Overall, I enjoyed the artwork, the music and the story, pieced together through diary pages that you locate throughout the house. The puzzles were also well-done and made me think, without being too difficult or illogical. However, as others have already said, there is a bug that causes the game to freeze whenever a new screen loads during gameplay. It seems to always happen after about 75-80 screen changes. At that point I would have to close the game and reload it. Then rinse and repeat. It got annoying after a while, but on the plus side, the game autosaves, so I didn't have to start all over. However, it really detracted from an otherwise excellent game. To summarize, the game is great, but I cannot recommend it due to the bug.
Despite the game locking up several times, it was still fun to play. Progress is automatically saved. Straightforward puzzles, story told via diary pages-although the translation was a little rough, nevertheless easy to follow. Of course, this is exactly the type of game I like. No dialogue, no death-just puzzles.
A nice point and click game with good graphics. The game hung on me many times and I had to restart each time. I am running WIn10 on a laptop with no known problems. I had to take many hints from available walkthroughs posted on youtube, but that could just be me. Avid adventurists may possibly complete the game without hints and with some patience and smarts. English was not the writer's first language and the diary notes you find along the way didn't really seem to me to have much significance, other than to give you an idea of how far along you are in the game. Even with these critical comments, definitely worth a try given the low price and overall nice experience.
I remember playing this about 8 years ago on a free game website, and it stuck with me, so I ended up searching for this. I quite love the art style, much better than the more realistic style in many point-and-click/escape games these days. its short, simple, and logical. the puzzles are quite easy and the game can be played in under an hour. there is one issue where it freezes but you can restart and it saves the progress, so not too bothersome. the translation is somewhat poor, but all the text is still easily understandable.
