Not only is The Song of Seven: Chapter One beautiful, but it tells an old story in a new and truly refreshing way.
Taking inspiration from both classic and modern adventure and point & click games, the game feels highly polished and offers interesting gameplay. The game is not incredibly challenging, but in a way that facilitates the story and allows the player to appreciate the environment. Overall, the game has great potential, and we look forward to the next four chapters of So7.
The Song of Seven: Chapter 1 is a charming game for point-and-click adventure enthusiasts. Would play again 10/10
An imaginitive journey through a beautifully crafted world that feels like it was lifted from the watercolored pages of a child's storybook. The art direction is an original, breath of fresh air with obvious thought given to the mood established in each of the sections though the music and environments. I enjoyed the purposefully naive dialog in the sequestered little village and how it contrasted to the more "worldly" characters. The puzzles were thought provoking, striking a nice balance between being solvable without overly simple, and made sense in the context of the story. The overall message of the piece is an important one and its simple, one line dedication struck an emotional chord. It is clear that great care was invested in the creation of this game and I look forward to seeing how the story plays out. I tip my hat to the development team. Well done. I definitely recommend this adventure to anyone looking to spend a few enjoyable hours capturing some of the magic from the days of imagination and bedtime stories.
Beautifully animated adventure tale, the first of seven stories to be told in this world. A little rough around the edges, but it's visual design truly shines. Check out my full first impressions here: https://youtu.be/kB2UYfP9uM0
Pros: The graphics are beautiful. The Music is pretty The Story is pretty intersting. The game is very smooth, no lag so far Cons:The resume button failed on me. (sent me to a black screen) I find the movement to be a bit sloppy at times. Overall I think this game deserves a 8/10. It's very enjoyable with memorable characters. Its worth every penny you spend on this game. Here is a quick gameplay 1080p 60FPS. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i4xXX2Bc-Mg
While at its core this game is a modern-style Point-and-Click Adventure game with its direct character controls and interactables that highlight when you hover them, it also evokes a bit of a PSX-era RPG feel, especially with its overworld map. The character models are decent enough, with limited animations but their own style about them. The backgrounds are gorgeous though, and the music helps pull you into the world as well. The pacing feels slightly slow at first, but once you hit the world map for the first time things get more interesting. The whole of Chapter 1 took me around 2.5-3 hours. I enjoyed what I played and I'm looking forward to playing future chapters.
awesome little game with a ton of character and beautiful world building. looking forward to what the next chapter has to offer!
Pretty good if you just want a game without an overly complex storyline and mechanics. Relaxing and fun.
Bogue énormément, je suis incapable de jouer.
