The Sink Gods

Very short, light point and click puzzle room experience. The story is proof you can make entertainment from almost anything. Starting shortly after being evicted from your home by the 'Royal Association of Rich Jerks' you set out to prove yourself to the 'Sink Gods' for vengeance against those who have wronged you. A little bit tongue in cheek there were definitely some humorous moments. Gameplay and style wholly reminds me of many of the ‘[url=https://store.steampowered.com/franchise/rustylake]Rusty Lake[/url]’ games to the point where it almost seems on purpose. You stand in the middle of a room, you can change to one of four directions and zoom in on objects/areas of interested and an inventory where you can drag items you have collected to interact with the environment. The game isn’t difficult - even though it’s vague, the entire thing can easily be completed in under an hour. In fact the only time I got stuck was because of the lack of graphic options provided and the game forcing full screen - this distorted and cut off a key part to interact with in a later puzzle for me. Aside from the bonus chapter, the puzzles also felt easier the more progress was made.

В “[b]The Sink Gods[/b]” фактически отсутствует сюжет, есть только завязка — в отличие от игр серии [b]Rusty Lake[/b], где сюжет, хотя и был абсурдным и сюрреалистичным, хорошо раскрывал характеры персонажей и события на экране. В “[b]The Sink Gods[/b]” этого нет ни в основной игре, ни в дополнениях. «[b]The Sink Gods[/b]» — это неудачная попытка создать игру в жанре квеста. A very short and fairly easy puzzler in the style of a Rusty Lake Cube Escape game. It won't take you an hour to finish and it has its clever moments. I'd recommend The Sink Gods to anyone looking for a quick puzzle break that can be solved with a minimum amount of brain drain!

Free and quite amusing little PnC puzzle game. The backstory is bare-bones, but sufficient - and - for an adult at least - quite an amusing take on godly revenge on the nasty rich jerks that - figuratively speaking - stomped all over you, just because they can, kind of thing. Yeah, take THAT, you heartless cruel thugs... ;-) NOTE: It's mostly peaceful and tongue-in-cheek amusing, but I would NOT recommend this for young children. There's beheadings at the end, which although KIsmet / they deserved it, is better suited for adults imo. And also a very uncomfortable bit in the Drain god (iirc) part, involving burning... ummm, ok so no spoilers here, .... but let me just say : NOT suited for small children, and even adults may want to [i]turn the sound off[/i], at least. It's done completely without dialogue, and not much in the way of any explanations. So you'll likely have to click around back and forth a bit at the start to work out the internal logic of how the game is structured. (Unless you happen to have played something very similar in some other game - I notice other reviewers say that it follows the same structure as the Rusty Lake games... I haven't played them, so I dunno.) Not terribly hard, but not easy either, in some places. (There's a Guide out on the game's Steam page, if you're completely stuck somewhere and need help). I'm a slow player so my 2 hours to complete (including 'Aftermath') is likely quite a lot longer than most. I couldn't find any stop or quit, so I had to do a hard quit to desktop at the end of the game. And there is no Save.

Quite short (took 50 minutes for me to complete) and easy game, good for relaxing a bit. Have to note though that installed game uses 2 GB of disk space, and I think this is not at all acceptable. Such amount of data comes from 2 things: the resources themselves, and the fact that both versions for Mac and Windows are installed. The same resources are just copied into two folders (Mac, Windows), which doubles the disk usage, though could be avoided easily.

Just... Fantastic and extremely underrated.

The Sink Gods is a free and fairly short and easy puzzle game, a bit in the vein of the Rusty Lake game series. It can be completed in an hour or two or maybe even less. Not as good as Rusty Lake series though but should be of interest to those who like those games. Recommended 6.5/10
