The Sims™ 4

I finally realized why I just can't get into The Sims 4, but I still find myself watching videos about The Sims 1. For the longest time I thought it was just nostalgia. Like I was becoming one of those grumpy old-school fans who always says, "everything was better back then." But I don't think that's it anymore. The Sims 1 wasn't just a life simulator. It was a satire of everyday life. As a kid, I completely missed that. The game constantly made fun of people's greed, stupidity, relationships, and everyday habits. It was full of dark humor, absurd situations, and it always felt like the developers didn't take themselves too seriously. Then the series gradually became "safer." The Sims 4 is beautiful, polished, and has great build mode and Create-a-Sim. But it also feels... sterile. Like it lost the sharp, sarcastic personality that made the earlier games so memorable. Everything feels designed to avoid offending anyone, and somewhere along the way the series lost part of its soul. I guess that's why I won't be coming back to The Sims 4. A building simulator with overly nice Sims just isn't what I'm looking for.

It saddens me to have to leave this game a negative review, the Sims Series has been a staple of my gaming experience since childhood. I could get over the *horrendous* amount of DLCs and how horribly expensive they are and have become as a whole....but I can't get past ingame, unskippable ads. In a game, that I paid for. Do not buy this game, there are other simulation games that are very promising, and actually care about your player experience.

This game is okay and I did love it but the DLCs ruined it. oh you want pets? you wanna make your cat irl? too bad pay us 50+ CAD dollars "Oh but its gonna be on sale" Im bored of the game already. Also sims is a bit too diffcult for me but thats just a me problem

If you enjoy games that are a money grab, owned by a company that doesn't care about its player base, and is now filled to the brim with microtransactions then,,, The Sims franchise is just for you! I have been playing the sims on my grandmother’s computer pretty much since I came out of the womb before buying it for myself in 2022 or something. The fact that you could spend 2,300 AUD on this game yet still not have every piece of content is insane. 🙁

Was great, but now they'll be adding in unskippable advertisement so that's bullS. The game is free to get (other than the DLCs) but it wasn't always and many of spent alot of money on the game, so to add bullsht ads that we can't escape is so stupid. EA really hates their customers

I bought it for 20 Euros and now it is free, give me my money back please
