About
**A student team project designed to deliver a ~10 minute experience.
The Silence After is a first-person atmospheric horror experience where you step into the role of a survivor wandering through the ruins of a world swallowed by stillness. Drawn forward by a faint and intermittent distress signal, you must navigate an apocalyptic landscape using only touch, intuition, and your rare synesthetic ability, transforming sound into shifting colors that paint brief, fragile shapes in the darkness.
Your surroundings are never fully visible. Instead, the world reveals itself through echoes: the creak of distant metal, the impact of broken glass, the crunch of debris beneath your feet. Each sound becomes a splash of color, outlining paths, obstacles, and hidden dangers. But in the suffocating quiet, you are not alone.
Twisted monsters roam the world; guided not by sight but by instinct and sound. To survive, you must stay quiet, stay low, and use your synesthesia to detect threats before they detect you. Avoid them by slipping through tight spaces, timing your movements, or using environmental noises to misdirect their attention. Every encounter is a test of nerve and awareness; make one wrong sound, and the silence will continue forever.
As you follow the mysterious distress signal, you’ll uncover fragments of what happened to the world, who sent the call for help, and what truly waits at the end of your journey.

Very interesting and well done game. Very short. Like, you could get all the collectibles and finish in 45 minutes tops. One complain, no FPS limit. Makes the game run rough. Worth a few minutes to play through
One of the most unique games I've played in a long time, with stellar graphics and dread-inducing audio, if you have a free afternoon and want a burst of horror, this is the perfect game for that. My only complaints about the game come down to really big drops in framerate at times and how short the game is. When I reached the very abrupt ending I wanted more spoopy monsters, but with only two and a half monsters it had me wondering if there were a sequel to this game what other horrors are out there in this world? I'll definitely be thinking about this game for a long time, it's world, and looking out for future works from the developers.
A great concept with some interesting ideas and quite the potential. However, the game is too short to flesh out any kind of gripping narrative, which is a bit sad because it seemed quite interesting. And the gameplay does not only feel too rushed, but some of the mechanics feel a bit weird too. It does, however, have some pretty good voice acting, albeit sometimes hard to understand either because of the way it was recorded or because of the radio effect messing with the clarity.
A very cool student project that is about 20min long if you are as slow as I am. The idea is neat, the design looks quite nice, and the voice acting from Rebecca Wass is amazing, kudos to her. And it is free, so you have no excuse.
