"The Shape of Time" is not a game, it's a virtual art exhibition. What happens is that often artists get kicked out of art school and instead of heading back to getting my order wrong at McDonalds, they pay $100 and dump their art on Steam, which is for PC games, and not art exhitibions from failed artists. So, this isn't a game, you can't "play" it, there's no game loops, you just walk around and look at stuff that's vaguely time themed as, from time to time, actual successful artists have experimented with time in art. You won't learn much from this, and as far as art exhibitions go, it looks "ok", but isn't winning any awards as far as PC games go. Steam. For PC games, remember? The graphics in this game are really quite good, which at least makes the game look more appealing. And while it's vital for any game to have impressive visuals (gaming is a visual medium, after all), there's more to a game than just the graphics. To be worth a gamers time, the game must match top tier visuals with top tier gameplay, and that's not happening here. This is "free" enough, at least you won't be expected to spend any more money after you download this, but just because something is free doesn't mean it's good. Even though this is "free", it failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 4 concurrent viewers... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Imagine an art gallery that only had 4 people in it at it's peak. They'd close their doors and never darken the art industry again. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? Nope. This isn't worth downloading. While this didn't cost me any money up front, I still feel ripped off.
It’s a very cool exhibit. I have always wished to see sensual dances in the 4th dimension, and now I can!
If you're familiar with the concept, it's true that it's nothing groundbreaking. Art-wise it's good though. And free.
A fun art exhibition on your computer.
Used a laptop for this, so it was a bit low quality for me, but I generally liked it. I'm an enormous fan of art, so I generally loved this a lot, and might help me figure out animation. This was lovely, and I really loved the general visuals. Nothing much to say but an amazing job from Julien Papo.
Very Interesting.
very cool idea and visualized something playing over and over something thats been in my head for ages
Interesting digital art gallery. Could have done with an option to set mouse sensitivity, but otherwise a good way to spend 20 minutes or so exploring a cool concept.
