The Roottrees are Dead

This genuinely tickles the autistic sleuth in me. As someone who grew up in the 90's when home computers were new and exciting - THIS embodies what searching on the internet was like. You were limited by how and what you typed it. You had to utilize other resources like the library, newspapers, etc. (which you somewhat have access to in a clever way). I turned on the game one day and went to search a lead and got instantly smacked in the face because i hadn't booted up the internet. And instead of being annoyed at "an extra step" i snorted because it was accurate. I deeply enjoyed the original story and the hunt. You have to be intentional with your wording and read certain things carefully. Question how things were stated and why they were stated. If you don't enjoy reading between the lines, speculating, or hunting down the truth in gossip - don't get this game. Plain and simple. My only real annoyance came when searching books. Let me use the authors name on its own. That's literally how the catalog system worked. Let me look up the author and give me a list of their works. The art style was nice, the soundtrack was enjoyable, and the voice acting was well chosen. I found myself sharing bit and pieces with my husband throughout my playing because I was genuinely impressed with many aspects of it. And though I haven't finished the second part just yet, the taste in my mouth has left me wanting more. I will most definitely be getting Galley House and keeping my eyes peeled for anything else Evil Trout decides to put out.

Top tier investigation/detective game inspired by Obra Dinn, in which you make use of a desktop PC to piece together a family tree. And just when you think you sorted it all out, they hit you with an entirely new, even harder one to figure out. The right kind of player, such as me, will get absolutely sucked it by this game, as both the underlying plot and gameplay look are highly compelling. Evil Trout have made something really special here, massive kudos to the dev team. Recommended to fans of the genre and the curious alike.

一场酣畅漓漓的碎片化推理！ 制作组及翻译组的文字幽默风趣，完全能体会到母语玩家，尤其是在美国文化环境下的玩家，能够莞尔一笑的更多梗和黑色幽默。尤其是劳伦的父母，“Milac only has one i”也太地狱了。 改编音乐和原创唱片也都非常应景。最爱改编音乐《kool kats》，专门去听了原版，改编更加舒缓律动，在找寻线索时也摇摆起来～ (- w -) ~ 最后，真想留下一张图：“好多人啊.jpg”！

초중반은 그럭저럭 재밌게 했지만 뒤로 갈수록 눈 빠지게 단어 찾고 소거법으로 때려 맞추는 게 너무 피로해요. . 뭣보다 스토리가 얕아서 이 추리를 해온 데에 대한 성취감이 없습니다. 플탐이 길게 잡혔는데 끝까지 해내면 어떤 반전이 있지 않을까 꾸역꾸역 진행한 결과입니다. 가계도를 완성해야만 보이는 이면에 숨겨진 가족의 어두운 비밀같은 게 있을 줄 알고 눈에 띄는 사망 사건들과 의문스럽게 죽은 인물들을 연도 별로 정리해가면서 했으나... 가계도를 완성해 달라던 건 말 그대로 그냥 가계도를 완성해 달라는 뜻이었군요.. 별 게 없었다는 게 가장 반전이었습니다. 미리 알았으면 길게 하지 않았을 거예요.
