The Pub Life Simulator: Prologue is a cozy little management game that I found pretty relaxing to play. I get to take a run down pub that is in rough shape and slowly turn it into a place that customers actually want to visit. I liked the simple progression because there is something satisfying about starting with an empty space, cleaning it up and gradually making it feel like my own business. The first thing I have to do is get the pub ready for customers. Cleaning the place, buying basic supplies and putting together a simple menu gives me an easy introduction to the management side. Once people start arriving, I have to keep them happy by preparing drinks and responding to what they want. I enjoyed the hands on feeling because I am not just watching numbers change in menus. I am actually running around the pub trying to keep things moving. Managing stock and money adds a little more strategy. I have to think about what ingredients I should buy, how much I am spending and which drinks are worth offering. As I progress, I can unlock better beverages and expand the business, which gives me a clear reason to keep improving the pub. I liked the feeling of slowly moving from basic service toward something that feels more professional. The presentation fits the cozy simulation style quite well. The pub itself has a grounded look, and there is something pleasant about watching customers come in and seeing the place become busier as I improve it. I also like that the game can be played with another person, because managing a pub together could make the busy moments much more entertaining. The overall atmosphere is much more about building something comfortable than creating constant pressure. My biggest issue is that the prologue feels very much like a preview of a larger game. There are plenty of management ideas here, but I kept feeling that I was only getting a taste of what the full experience could become. Some systems also need clearer explanations, especially when I first start playing. I occasionally had to work out what the game expected me to do without enough guidance. I also think the gameplay could become repetitive if I spend too long doing the same daily routine. Serving drinks, managing supplies and cleaning the pub are satisfying at first, but I would like more variety in customer behavior and more interesting events to break up the routine. The foundation is good, though, and the progression gives the prologue enough structure to make me curious about the larger game. Overall, The Pub Life Simulator: Prologue is a pleasant and promising management game with a simple idea that works well. I enjoyed cleaning up the pub, serving customers, managing supplies and gradually unlocking better ways to run the business. It is clearly limited as a prologue, and some systems could be explained better, but I liked the cozy atmosphere and the hands on approach enough to have a good time with it. Rating: 6.9/10
