I Came to Terraform. I Ended Up Selling Snacks. I landed on a dead planet with barely enough oxygen to survive. A few dozen hours later, I was running what can only be described as an interplanetary food corporation. That probably wasn't the intended progression, but that's where life took me. The beautiful thing about The Planet Crafter is how naturally everything escalates. You start by celebrating your first tiny oxygen generator. Then you build a base. Then another. Suddenly there are lakes where there used to be dust storms, trees where there used to be rocks, and somehow you're checking your trade rockets every few minutes because your food business is booming. I don't know exactly when I stopped being a survivor and became a capitalist. It just... happened. The Rover, however, never accepted this new lifestyle. It spent most of its career getting stuck in places no vehicle should ever reach. Rocks, terrain, invisible collision... if there was a way to embarrass itself, it found it. There are definitely some collision and texture issues while driving, but somehow they never managed to outweigh the fun. Eventually I just accepted that the Rover wasn't transportation. It was comic relief. Watching an empty planet slowly become green is still one of the most satisfying progressions I've experienced in a survival game. The whole experience has this relaxing rhythm where every little improvement matters, and before you notice, you've completely transformed an entire world. ...while accidentally becoming the richest food merchant in the galaxy. I regret nothing.
