The Narrator Is a DICK

Headache but fun

It's funny. It gets pretty difficult pretty fast, but the narrative humor keeps it going (until you run out of narrator responses to the same death scenario...).

This is a rage game, so you are going to learn by dying. There are not many hints, and every death comes with another insult from the narrator. The good news is that I looked forward to hearing what he would say next because the responses felt unique. You are buying into that premise, and the game definitely delivers on it. There are also ridiculous scenarios. Without spoiling too much, you end up stripping for money and using that money to buy explosives. I will let you discover what happens after that... The narrator is clearly the main selling point, with recorded responses, insults, jokes, and maybe even a song. The checkpoints are generous for a rage game, which kept me from (actually) losing my mind. I reached 117 deaths while playing normally, although part of me wanted to see how many unique insults I could trigger. The presentation is basic, and the platforming is not original. It's got Mario vibes, so do not expect anything groundbreaking here. I would not personally buy it at full price, but it sometimes drops below $1 on sale. At that price, why not, ya know lol. If you enjoy rage games, you will probably get a good laugh out of this one.

The pixel art is cute and the Narrator's comments are funny the first time, but when you hear the same comment nonstop over and over it gets irritating fast. If you're a fan of those kinds of 'I wanna be the guy' games, take a look, but for anyone looking for a completely chill experience, look elsewhere.

With or without the Narrator, the game is still a ♥♥♥ and will only test your patience. Don't trust anything in the game, even grass
