About
THE MUTINY — OPEN WORLD ZOMBIE SURVIVAL RPG
Scavenge. Survive. Don't get infected.
The Mutiny is a third-person open-world zombie survival RPG. Scavenge an abandoned town above ground and the dark tunnel system beneath it, build your survivor from nothing, and fight to stay alive against the infected — solo or with up to 4 players online.
This is a small world built by one developer, and it grows every single month. Buy in early and watch it get bigger.
ABOVE GROUND AND BELOW
Explore a full town on the surface and the tunnel network running under it. Ziplines connect the world — hook on, ride, and drop into the fight.
ONLINE CO-OP — UP TO 4 PLAYERS
Share a join code and survive together. Everyone builds their own survivor, and everyone sees your look, gear, and weapons. Zombie kills, loot, doors, and world pickups all stay in sync. Play online with friends, or offline solo with full save support.
BUILD YOUR SURVIVOR
Create your character from scratch — body weight, musculature, skin tone, hair, and face. You start with nothing but your survivor in their underwear. Every piece of clothing and armor you find fits your body perfectly.
25 ARMOR SLOTS
Helmet, face mask, torso, shoulders, elbows, gloves, pants, knees, boots — 25 individual armor slots, all equippable. Find full sets, mix and match. Every combination changes how you look and how you play.
SURVIVAL WITH REAL WEIGHT
Hunger drains. Thirst builds. Stamina fades when you run, and the heavier your loadout, the faster it goes. Gear wears down — repair what you can, replace what you can't.
ZOMBIES THAT FIGHT BACK
Walkers, runners, lungers, exploders, toxic and contaminated infected — and the Brooder, who births three flying zombies when she falls. Zombies react to every hit. Blow off a leg and they crawl. Take the head and they drop.
THE ARSENAL
Thirteen firearms across every role — pistols, revolvers, SMGs, rifles, a bolt-action sniper, marksman rifles, shotguns, and a silent crossbow. A quick-melee button swings your holstered blade and snaps back to your gun without breaking stride.
EXPLOSIVES
Twelve throwables — grenades, Molotovs, freeze and surge grenades, sticky tack grenades, homing rounds, zombie attractors, and remote-detonated C4.
HORDE ZONES
Sealed-off areas where the doors lock and the wave system kicks in. Fight escalating hordes until you clear it. Optional, and brutal.
THE ZOMBIE VIRUS
Get infected and your max health decays. Manage it with antibodies, or find the cure before it's too late.
GAS MASKS + CONTAMINATION ZONES
Toxic fog fills parts of the world. Without a gas mask you won't last inside. Maintain your mask to push deeper.
LOOT THE DEAD
Death doesn't reset the world. When you die, your body reanimates as a zombie wearing all your gear. Fight your way back to it and reclaim your loadout.
SCAVENGE, REPAIR & TRADE
Zombie Guts are the currency of the apocalypse. Equip the Guts Collector to auto-pull them as you fight. Spend them at six specialized vendors, repair gear at the Repair Station, and stash your best loot between runs.
A GROWING WORLD
The map is small right now. It expands every month. New areas, enemies, weapons, and armor with every update.
COMING SOON
Multiple save slots. Crafting and building. New enemies. More clothing and armor variants.

Reviews
The description and pcitures were misleading. Expecting an open world zombie survival rpg but turns out it is a tunnel system. Not sure if even possible to get to the surface, tunnels have dead ends and trying to explore ones that weren't just in a straight line didn't lead me to anything exciting. Gamplay was meh. Accuracy of guns were awful, didn't feel like they had any power behind them apart from the shot gun. Buying system was broken, could buy things and it would give you money, other areas couldn't buy anything. Was not going to wait for stock to refresh as hunger and thirst bars deplete fast while not doing anything. Game feels disappointing and even for this price it still was not enough for me to appreciate it. It looked like it had potential but unfortunately was a let down.
It's frustrating to play. I tried four times before I actually got a decent hour playthrough. I wasn't able to play online, but it doesn't look like anyone else is playing it yet anyway. I took a break (left it on the main menu) and came back, but I wasn't able to play on my save. It just showed me a blue background, the character's HUD, several weapons I never had, and some kind of target cursor. I had to restart the game because every time I tried to go back to that save, it did the same thing. You don't have the option to delete or choose save files, so I don't know if the old ones are deleted or replaced by new. The controls are wonky and took time to get used to. You can jump, but not on/over things. Each combat move is so slow. Sometimes you knock arms and heads off with one punch. Sometimes it takes several. I can't tell if the size/armor of the zombie matters. You start off in a room with a bunch of junk and a crate, which contains some basics. Great. As soon as I went through the first door, I was killed by a small cluster of zombies. When you die, your body reanimates as a zombie with all your loot and gear, and you respawn (in your underwear) in a big room with vendors. You have no currency. To get your stuff back you have to go find yourself and take it back, but you have to get more gear first to make it through the rooms. I managed to fistfight enough zombies to purchase some items and get further into the maze of rooms. There are a bunch of crates with more gear, including stuff I had just purchased. If I'd gone a little further I could have saved myself some credits. Weapons were plentiful, and crates respawn. One time when I died and respawned, I came across my previous body. I backed into a corner (fists only, when they come at you from the side or behind things get crazy) and killed the zombies, but I was stuck and couldn't get past my previous body. Figured I'd wait for the corpses to disappear. All of them did except mine! So I kept trying to move around and get out of the corner, but suddenly I was falling through the floor. The character just fell forever, so I had to restart the game. I started to get the hang of things, but there's still a lot I don't get. Honestly, I'm not willing to go any further. Plus, while I paused to go to the bathroom (the screen said PAUSED and showed buttons for the menu), a zombie came and killed my character. I would understand if it was multiplayer, but I was OFFLINE! For a score, maybe 3 out of 10. If it's too late for me to get a refund, I'll check it out again if there are significant updates.
