About

You’ve moved to Mush Meadows to recover from burnout from the city and working life. By selling all your belongings, you set out to start a new life closer to nature and buy a cabin that has been abandoned for a while. You discover that the cabin used to belong to a mushroom enthusiast, and they left their basket and unfinished journal there, among other things. It almost looks like they’ve just disappeared and when browsing through the journal, you notice some pages missing or unfinished...

Roam around the beautiful woodlands, find mushrooms, and use your Mushroom Journal to identify mushrooms by selecting the correct traits. Look for the characteristics of the cap, gills and stem, and remember: you may only pick mushrooms if you're 100% sure of them!

The small community of Mush Meadows relies on the mushrooms for food, trade and medicine. They welcome you, and are eager to help you, it has been a long time since an “outsider” was among them. Go introduce yourself, and you might find yourself on a journey of new friendships, fulfilling the requests of your new neighbors.

The Mushroom Journal was created as a student project within the duration of three months. We carefully crafted our concept, produced all art and audio for the game ourselves, and were able to deliver our project we're incredibly proud of.

The design is nice; the game has good base mechanics which have potential. Could add farming mechanics and a way to customise living spaces/characters. Could even have options to poison and kill npcs or something. Who knows. The problem right now is that there is no goal. You get the tutorial done and then after that the whole game is repetition with no purpose.
Absolutely wonderful!! A fun cosy and calming game with super cute visuals! I would absolutely love to see more!!!
I'm a big fan of the artwork, the rest is lazy and seems unfinished but the devs don't seem like they're gonna fix it. My first complaint is all the useless content. There is a currency, furthermore a selling place where you can sell mushrooms. Yet you can't do anything with the gold you get in return. There is a "cave" area but you can never enter this supposed cave in the game. Secondly, the music is a 1 minute loop of the same guitar jingle over and over again which will drive you crazy even if the entire game takes 30 minutes to complete. Lastly the game is a buggy mess and the gameplay loop so boring it can be explained in one sentence: Collect mushrooms that you have instructed to by a random side-character and sleep to unlock the next character with the next mission. If this is a graded student project I feel like this is the kind of group project where one person does all the work (the artist in this case) and the rest helps just enough to come off as having done something.
A super cute pixel art game where you forage for mushrooms in a forest and meet a bunch of cute animal people.
Short, Easy, & Simple. guh big fan of all the mushroom art!!!
this game is really fun. i enjoy identifying thoose mushroom. its like a fun ittle puzzle. it does feel a little bit repetitive. but how can i complain when this is just a small indie project. anyway hope you do a little update adding more mushroom, npc/mission and probably bigger map. this is so fun and i love it.
